Because the test car was not there anymore?
I got the idea the rental deal was done before the team drivers PET.
It`s just testing...who would choose R5 over WRC in this case?
With wet or dry condition... it's the same for WRC's drivers
Top test of Suninen today in Germany. The Fiesta have a engine problem before the end :/

wOw
I haven't seen a single vid from Panzerplatte/Baumholder this year and at least I think Hyundai said they were going to test there, very likely others too.
Did teams already test there and nobody could come in (unlike previous years?) or will they do it this weekend? (kinda late though)
Ford tomorrow I read.
Maximum attack test by Suninen and some in the wet. Car looks great - what a difference to that Bottas effort.
Are you guys again making assumptions of a car’s pace based on how it looks on testing videos?
Rich Millener:
This I would class under the definition of ON IT. Absolutely banzai. Cant wait for next week. #ford #fiesta #WRC

And they were not completely wrong.
The citroen was perhaps the fastest car in some conditions, but it was unpredictable when things where not 100% right.
Meeke won as many rally's in 2017 with that c3 as ogier. Actually, meeke has won every rally where he didn't has issues or crashed out that year.
I believe someone with a smooth style like loeb in his prime or ogier would have easily taken the championship with the c3.
The toyota is hard to tell. They had no drivers who could show the real speed of the car. It was for sure not the dominant car it is today, but looking at latvala's results it can't have been a real slow car.
Another Suninen with big jumps. (Dont watch AnttiL ... ).

More on Bottas: https://www.rallyssimo.it/2019/08/16...la-yaris-dice/
"The same Finnish driver is enthusiastic about these experiences on rally cars, as he himself states:
"It's really fun. When I tested the Yaris it was great, driving such a powerful car on the tarmac is incredible, especially for me coming from the track. At the end of that day, I was in line with the times of Kris Meeke, who had tested a few hours before me.
A day of testing in rallies is more fun and less stressful than a Formula 1 weekend. There is no pressure that grips you, neither internal nor external."
Soon we will know the future of Valterri, which is still in the balance, given that we play the Mercedes seat with Ocon. In case of goodbye to the silver arrow, the doors of the Rally could open…. "
This. I also remember Rally Finland shakedown 2018 and seeing Rovanperä and thinking "wow he's careful on the first pass" and it was the fastest time.
It's a different thing to watch a testing video and say "wow that looks great/spectacular/enjoyable" or "wow that car will be faster than the others"
I don't get the comparison vs. Meeke. Bottas has never driven the Yaris on tarmac?
according to that article i get that he was also driving with the Yaris on tarmac on the same day as Meeke did Rally Germany PET
I had to use translator for that site and I didn't get that impression. Originally those comments are from crash.net and the article was about testing with Toyota. There is comments like “That was quite encouraging for a first day in gravel.” So it was before Rally Finland.

Rallyssimos text is just overlook of Bottas with WRC-cars this summer.
