Hyundai (Mikkelsen) testing in Finland:

first pic with revised front for more aero grip.
Still the whole situation is funny.
Hyundai had a similar front already until Spain 2017... and you can say it was the best car until then. For 2017 spain they removed one of the fins on each side to lower the downforce and subsequently they improved rear downforce with bigger Toyota-style wheel arches.
Since then the car struggled with massive understeer and now after almost 2 years they go "back" to almost same front as they had.
EDIT: 2017 front for comparison:

nice catch, i actually didnt notice it in the morning when i first saw the pic.
the fins now look exactly like Toyota ones.
Also additions to the splitter at each end (which is all new)
But indeed quite funny they reverted to the old concept of 2 fins, but new angles and positions may provide differences.
Our review of the front aero modifications Hyundai has been testing today in Finland, thanks to the excellent pictures from @VuorinenHenri @HMSGOfficial @RallyFinland @WRCLive #WRC

doing back to back tests with old and new? to compare..
Yes, but it's more complicated. When you increase rear aero you need to compensate in the front. Also they might have added additional exits and cooling to compensate. Looks the same from the front, but the exits of the air, cooling, underside aero and rear cooling are one big package and hence are most likely updated.
**EDIT** see post #9631 above to see all the updates
Interesting how Paddon was complaining about this for half of 2017 and all of 2018 and they only try new aero to fix it now, I remember he was trying to fix this with softening suspension settings and in the end managed to get a new rear diff out of them before Finland last year finally which lead to his best result, funny how a Loeb in the team gets things done.
This should back them more than competitive in Finland if it gives them the front grip they need and not to much extra tyre wear.

Nice sliding and safe jumps (after morning too big jump). Breen was very happy whole day despite they have to change new engine and it took 2 hours
