Cant blame timing on RMC.
And if there is alot of traffic on the roads, meaning crews will be driving daft to get to the time controls on time then I am all for the cancellation!

Still I admire the organizers for having the balls to put those stages at night in the route. For me night stages are one of the most beautiful and memorable things of this sport, and unfortunately few organizers nowadays take that risk. The problem with too many spectators is really out of their hands.
Turini in the dark is one of THE most classic stages in the history of world rallying - surely if Turini is in the race itinerary, it will be run in the dark at least once.. anything else would most likely result in a massive outcry even before the rally starts..Quote:

Unfortunately this most likely will result in the loss of such an iconic stage, which is a massive shame!
I think the real reason for cancelling is the lack of studded tyres left for drivers and teams not being happy about going without them for the last 2.
Come on, man. Night Turini used to be one of the most classic things through the history of rallying. Do You know how many people were more than happy when it came back in 2009 and returned the memories of gr.B legends climbing up the mountains in the night to reach the Mekka, sorry, Col de Turini? For four years the night run over these stages was one of the season highlights. Now it failed. That happens. In case of extraordinary things it is sometimes better to try and fail than not to try at all.Quote:

Anyway, congratulations for Loeb for the flawless Rally and winning it totally under control, VW (and Ogier) for their very successfult first outing, I'm little dissapointed by Latvala's out, but in these conditions, anything can happen. Sordo was successful also IMO, these are not his favorite conditions. For the rest I can distinguish both Ford drivers - Novikov and Hanninen for their spirit.

Well, this vintage card that VW published days ago has lost some kms, but the keywords were absolutely truth.
Yes, surely it must be difficult, but they have to think it before it can happen. This is not acceptable on the WRC level. If it is not possible to drive Turini during the weekend and control the people they have to do it during the week or not to do it at all...Quote:

About the traffic, they should know "everybody" want to go last stages and have marshalls enough also before SS.
Gongrats to Loeb/Elena!
For me the mistake - if there was any - to run the stage 3 times. Maybe after 2nd run lot of spectators started to leave the stage and that caused some jame at the road section. The rest was like in last year. As I see the pics from Turini there was no more pople than last year. Ok I just speculate. Tyre could be also an issue linked to safety. The manus. are agreed in the backgorund that better to stop.
