Entrylist for rally 6h of Kortrijk this weekend http://www.rallylovers.be/nb/7376/Ra...rsvoorstelling
I'm in the region this weekend, so will spectate some stages :D
First victory of Vincent Verschueren with the DS3 R5 at '6 uren van Kortrijk'. He won a close battle against Casier in the Fiesta R5!
Happy for Vincent after a tough year, waiting so long for the car to arrive and then quite some problems during rallies with the car.
In 2015 the Belgian championship will have 9 events, of which 8 best results will count for the title. I think all drivers complain about the calendar having too many events. Who has budget for 9 rallies (average length of 190 km SS per event)?
So all events in BRC:
Rally van Haspengouw
Rallye de Spa (new event)
TAC Rally
Rallye de Wallonie
Sezoens Rally
GEKO Ypres Rally (counts for ERC as well)
Omloop van Vlaanderen
East Belgian Rally
Rallye du Condroz
Can someone mabye send me some info as Im going to attend the Legend Boucles for the first time next year and don't know what to expect (bar loads of incredible cars and night stages!!) haha
Spa isn't a real rally in fact. It's a regularity event, the average speed drivers should get is 80kph on every stage. In reality it is impossible on most of the stages (only 2 stages where some drivers got to the average speed this year), so you have to go as fast as you can. It has been a nice event, despite the bad organisation. Having delayed and/or cancelled stages are more a habit than an exception and can be quite frustrating for spectators, especially when there's some big regroup halfway the day and they suddenly manage to start on time again. Still the atmosphere and stages are great, and there are always many great drivers and some legendary names at the start of the event.
The event will be completely different next year, and it could be quite disappointing... I'm not even planning to attend the event at this point. What happened is some dispute between the city of Spa and the organizers. So the organizers took the name and will organize their event in another city, some 80kms away. I think on the long run this move will be a catastrophy for the event. At least 75% of the stages will be different I think, compared to last years. For example the legendary "Clementine" stage will be out, it will be replaced by some other forest-gravel stage, but nobody really knows how good it will be. Also part of the fame of the event goes away, and a big part of the atmosphere. Also I think many "big" national drivers won't bother searching for a historic car to enter this event anymore, many are fed up with the messy organisation and the extremely expensive entry fee. Also there is a new event in the Belgian championship in Spa, another reason for national drivers to save their budget for "proper" rallying.

Some first news about the "Spa Rally" is out, after a press-conference yesterday. The event is held on 13th and 14th of march.
Friday will consist of 6 stages, 2 loops of 3 stages. One loop should be run in daylight, the other in the dark. It looks like the famous Clémentine-stage will be run on friday, probably as opening stage. Here's an onboard from the stage, with Snijers without pacenotes! (When this stage was in Legend Boucles de Spa it wasn't allowed) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDlYMUZX4bY
On saturday 13 stages will be run, 2 loops of 5 followed by one loop consisting of 3 stages. (3 stages will be run 3 times, 2 stages will be run twice). It makes a total of 19 stages, the total SS length should be around 200km.

Mostly action from Belgium (Belgian championship and smaller rallies), but also some WRC events (Sardinia, Finland, Germany) and some French gravel-action.

Good luck to him for the 2015 season ;)
Young Irish driver Stephen Wright is planning to compete with an R5-car in the Belgian championship this year! Last year he became quite competitive with the 208 R2. :)
Regulations for BRC are officially out now. Some changes:
9 events are on the calendar, 8 best results count for the championship. Who enters in all 9 rounds get 9 extra points for the championship (not for the category-championships). (For info: the points for championship consist out of points scored per event 10-8-6-etc general + 10-8-6-etc. in class, so a driver can score up to 20 points per event. If you're 5th and you win your class you still get 14 points).
First 15 on the start-list should be be RC2 or RGT cars registered for the championship. From 15 to 20 it will be the 5 first drivers in BRC junior standings, after the last junior there will be a 2 minute gap. So first WRC should have number 21...
Also Rally2 goes from 5 to 7 minutes (10 minutes for last stage of the day), which makes it nearly impossible to get in top 10 after retiring on first leg.
Bertrand Grooten confirmed first 4 rallies of BRC with Citroën DS3 R5 from D-Max. So it's the 3rd DS3 R5 who will participate in the Belgian championship. He used to be a talented driver but last years he did only one-shots.
Return of Polle Geussens in BRC and at the 208 Cup ;)

Kris Princen doing BRC with support of Peugeot Belux! :)

Livery for Princen. Reminds me to the Peugeot Italy colors. :)
I just discovered the news about Kris Princen !!!! I'm too happy, at least as happy as when I learnt Paolo Andreucci was the new Peugeot Italia factory driver in 2009 :D
:bounce:
To me the best candidate in the belgian championship vs Fast Freddy
Great news for Belgian champ (and by the way, for Ypres too :p) ! I think I'll come back to TAC this year :)
Patrick Snijers will do full BRC with a new Porsche 997 GT3, including Ypres. Could be interesting to see a battle between Delecour and Snijers there... :)
