Not what I'm looking for, but plausible answer :)
It may not be worded clearly enough, but in Rome I am also referring to the city. Also these are the first three cities to do so.
Achieve a population of 1 million?
Oh schmenke, I think you've nailed it.
yes you nailed it schmenke. your Q :)
Thanks Doc.
I can't think of anything challenging, so I'll throw in this quickie...
Where can the Comoros Islands be found?
Wild guess; Aegean Sea
Is that the one with the Comoro Dragon (that giant monitor lizard) - I have seen it too many times for my liking on Discovery :\
I think it is somewhere near Indonesia
Just checked a map. If Comoro is what we spell Comore then they're in the Indian Ocean, close to East Africa and Madagascar.
If not, I don't know.
Ohhhh, arrived too late! Yes, I agree....I think it's near Madagascar too. Although I can't imagine many people know a great deal about the place other than its location.
jssboobled it...Quote:

You all can squabble for the next Q... :mark:
OK I'll throw out another easy one:
What is the oldest continually occupied Euopean-established city in the US?
Not sure I understand the Q, but I'll guess Boston.
It is not Boston. This is not a complicated question. The US as all of us know was explored by several European countries, Spain, England, Portugal, France, and I'm probably leaving someone out.
These countries had settlements. I'm looking for the one that is the oldest and continually occupied into the present. Does that clear things up?
The reason I say European-established is because
Acoma Pueblo or "Sky City" in New Mexico has been continually occupied since roughly 1,000 CE
But it is not a city in the sense that we usually consider.
It was, and is more of a community.
St Augustine Flar-duh.
That is the one :)
How funny, I was watching "The National Geographic Bee" on the Nat. Geo. Station last night, and there was a question about the Comoros Islands. Thanks to this thread I got it right ;)Quote:

Jan’ it is your Q!
I felt very tempted to reply "On a stamp" but that's the Turks and Caicos IslandsQuote:

Didn't have to look it up, I just know you ;) You only consider two motorsports real, rally and motorcross, and rally didn't have a world champion before 1973. So a bike manufacturer that also makes other stuff, probably from Sweden since you lived there for a while, well that could only be Husqvarna.Quote:

they made about 6500 bikes in '76
And "Vappe" ("vapenfabrik" ) was around 49 largest Swedish Company in terms of turnover,
So motorsports was part of a household products company (sewing machines, stoves, waffel irons, etc) that also made bikes.
And I lived there for around 7 years--quite a while.
So you got the bike, what's the name of the TOWN
Hey guys! Time to wake up!
Sorry, but I’m not familiar with Swedish towns.
I spent a day in Stockholm once… 20 years ago :dozey:
I think this thread should be resuscitated...
Since none of us has plans to travel to Sweden and find that bloody town then please tell us its name and ask a new Q.
OK. Time to bring this thread back.
Remember, this forum is Global in nature. As such, questions should be rather more inclusive than, say, naming a village that may or may not have appeared in a Borat movie.
So in the spirit of Earth-Wide Geography, here's a question that you might answer simply by studying that spinning globe in the study....
By the shortest route, which 2 World Capitals are the farthest apart? (ie virtually at opposite ends of the Earth)
gee boys, a motosport forum, a fantastic record at the highest levels for decades and nobody can look and find Huskvarna?
Sorry.
Sorry, I though people knew where things that were for decades at the top of the MOTOR-SPORT GLOBE were built.Quote:

I don't have a globe handy but I'm willing to take a flying **** at a rolling doughnut: Ottawa Canada and Pyongyang N Korea via over the pole?Quote:

You are missing the point. The rules of the game specifically prohibit looking the answer up - unless the poster of the question says you can. Which you signally failed to do, allowing the game to stallQuote:

Nope.
Almost all of Canada is antipodal to water.
