not sure where - I guess Indy - but with that number it may be Europe when they announced plans to run at Indy.....
great photo!
You got it. As far as I know it's Indy, going by the Pegasus symbol. Wasn't that a sponsor or something that used to be on all the cars? Does anyone know the significance of that?Quote:

It was neat how Indy was part of hte F1 championship in those days - can you imagine a modern Formula1 car running at Indy (on the oval)???
Anyway - here is the next
Driver- Mark Donohue
Year- 1969
Car- Lola-Offy
Track- Brainerd
Everything is right but the track.
How about that turbo setup? For sure it is not a high speed oval!! ;)
Driver- Mark Donohue

Track- Indy
well, it is IRP - same town - close enough.....

While we ar waiting for Phoenix here are some more of the Donahue photos I found on a tribute site:

Sorry about the delay.
Great photos Chris.
I thought that Penske ran a Chevy for IRP that crew had to be hustling to swap engine and re balance the car.
New photo coming up.

March 84C-Cosworth Provimi Veal sponsor
I love the old ESPN stickers on the wings. IMHO, Provimi Veal's later dark brown and gold (Lotus-like) color scheme was great.
A. Luyendyk

Next one.... I have had to slightly edit the photo as the drivers name was easy to see on the side, so I have removed it. I have not altered anything else in the photo though.
driver, car, track, year please....
Canadian John Jones in the Labatt's Protofab Lola, 1989. The hard part is the track. I'll say Laguna Seca (?)
all right except the track.
this is off topic - but jsut wanted to say, I just checkout the Ferrari/Shell ad that autoracing1.com has a link to nad it is AWESOME!!!
Since so much of this thread is about the rich history of our sport I thought you might find it interesting... If you do not get AR1 - here is the link on youtube:
