In Croatia this was also a headline news. Actually the only two times I remember seeing anything motorsport related this year were tho news reports- one for this, and on for a hillclimb race in Serbia where, you guessed it, a spectator died. Really horrible situation in CZ right now, I read a lot of articles in these few days and from what I understand, the media is very aggressive towards rallying at the moment. Not very hard to be, since the televisions make up fake rally experts who say that you will almost certainly die if you go spectate rallies. I can't even imagine the talks on the streets from people who are rally experts when tragedies happen, F1 experts when Senna died, football experts when some player dies, skiing experts when a skier lost his leg a few years ago, etc... Sorry for some harsh words, but just I'm very frustrated by the situation. All in all, a very simbolic end to this rallying year.
