Sorry but Roby started it. :)
Looks like we can blame the Chinese for the current epidemic…..
2007 - Chinese year of the Chicken - Bird Flu Pandemic devastates parts of Asia
2008 - Chinese year of the Horse - Equine Influenza decimates Australian horse racing
2009 - Chinese year of the Pig - Swine Flu Pandemic kills hundreds of pigs/humans around the globe.
Outlook for 2010 is somewhat of a worry. It is the Chinese year of the Cock.
i hope it's not the Cock which is more important to mankind :D
Did not!! :) LOLQuote:

You should all try and catch the inaugural Peruvian Grand Prix. Photo of first Superpole(s) and grid formation on following site........

Racing V-Rods I see. The scenery is spectacular.
My favourite bits are doohan into the southern loop (weeeeee!!!), then out through the bass straight left-hander (really scary-fast corner) into honda, then up to siberia, the hayshed (watch the camber change!), over lukey (getting that bit right is just sublime) into mg (always seem to be over cautious into that one) then out through 11 and 12 hard on it, down the shute onto Gardiner - then do it all over again! :)Quote:

Honourable mention goes to Mac Park (mount Gambier SA), lots of fun and very technical.
pictures from Assen for ste:
view on 'Hoofdtribune', in front of start-finish. As you can see this grandstand is quit close to the track, compared to some tracks I've seen on TV
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7...sen2009023.jpg
The Geert Timmer corner, last chicane of the circuit. When you walk up this 'flying' grandstand, you can follow the bikes half of the circuit
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/3...en2009156s.jpg
Oh, BTW, there are more than 10 video screens next to the track on raceday
That's pretty cool Corny. That Geert Timmer corner sounds like turn one (Doohan corner) and Siberia at Phillip Island where you can see a good half to two-thirds of the circuit. Makes for good viewing value.
I know it's been said before a few times but I just want to talk up how good this forum is. I've been reading from a couple lately and the amount of tripe spouted on them is incredible. So much brainless opinion posed as fact. Even when opinions on here are biased, there's at least some thought and effort goes into explaining them and arguments are generally kept to the topic at hand - personal insults are thankfully rare.
So keep up the good work guys!
Good to see everyone around and some very good posts and threads in here as always.
As I'm sure you're all aware, F1's having one of it's fairly regular meltdowns, so we all need to be ready for bike racing to claim top spot in world motorsport in the near future :)
Hope you all enjoy World Superbikes at Misano, and Snetterton for the BSB fans.
Indeed they are making a laugh from Formula one.. Even here in The Netherlands there is not as much politics going
BTW, can't wait till next friday morning 6 o'clock :D :D :D Just hope it'll be another cracking race
okay here are some pics for STU69. Had a boring evening, so I had the time to scan the folder from this year's TT :D
http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/8918/ttflyer.jpg
This is the map of the TT-campings. I'm always at number 14
If you want to have a good rest, then you should not go to the campings lying on the road between number 18 and 22. This is the road people take between the circuit and the city, so sure you will hear a lot of drunken people and burning bikes in your trying-to-sleep! I always sleep at number 14, that's one of the little normal campings you have on the road. If you want to have a laugh and see some freaky things, go to campings number 15, 17, 18, 19 and 20.. If needed more help on the campings, ask me please

This is the time table for this year's TT of Assen.
http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/3425/ttflyer2.jpg
The circuit and it's prices. Notice that the grandstands: Hoofdtribune, Winterdijk, Geert-Timmer and Strubben are sold out, that's why the prices of that are not on. If you have any questions, put them here and I will tell you them
Oh, yeah and BTW, this is what you see from the Winterdijk grandstand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzodO7Magi8 made on my visit of this year's WSBK race
I have put the pictures in small size, here they are in big seize if you're not able to read it

Sounds like a good way to do it Corny, camp close enough to enjoy all the craziness but just far enough away to get some sleep. I hope it's dry for you. Should be a ripping weekend.
Thankyou :DQuote:

Guys, just an advanced warning that I'll be away from next Thursday until the following Monday/Tuesday at Glastonbury Festival, so won't be on hand to do any moderating-y stuff or have the League and Pickems points up immediately.
I hope to catch up on the races (Assen MotoGP, Donington WSB) and do the points on Tuesday 30th June.
The next day I'm off to France, to compete in a 24-hour kart race at Le Mans (!), so again will be away til Tuesday July 7th. I'll then catch up with the MotoGP race from Laguna and do those League & Pickems points a little later than usual.
You swine Pat :p : My mates are going to Glasto but I simply can't afford that kind of outlay (especially as we're currently putting a set of Dellorto 40s on our sprint car which is turning out to be fairly expensive). MInd you I'm not sure I could cope with having to choose between Blur and Prodigy on Sunday so probably best I stay at home and watch it on the telly, just hoping that Neil Young plays a decent set.
Police officer on radar duty says to speeding motorcyclist...............
"50 over the limit........I've been waiting for a maniac like you all day!"
Rider's response......... "Sorry you had to wait but I got here as quickly as I could."
BEER BY SEVEN YEAR OLDS
A handful of 7 year old children were asked 'What they thought of beer'. Some interesting responses, but the last one is especially touching.
'I think beer must be good. My dad says the more beer he drinks the prettier my mum gets.'
--Tim, 7 years old
'Beer makes my dad sleepy and we get to watch what we want on television when he is asleep, so beer is nice. '
--Mellanie, 7 years old
'My Mum and Dad both like beer. My Mum gets funny when she drinks it and takes her top off at parties, but Dad doesn't think this is very funny.'
--Grady, 7 years old
''My Mum and Dad talk funny when they drink beer and the more they drink the more they give kisses to each other, which is a good thing.'
--Toby, 7 years old
'My Dad gets funny on beer. He is funny. He also wets his pants sometimes, so he shouldn't have too much.
--Sarah, 7 years old
'My Dad loves beer. The more he drinks, the better he dances. One time he danced right into the pool.'
--Lilly, 7 years old
'I don't like beer very much. Every time Dad drinks it, he burns the sausages on the barbecue and they taste disgusting.'
--Ethan, 7 years old
'I give Dad's beer to the dog and he goes to sleep.'
--Shirley, 7 years old
AND THE BEST RESPONSE
'My Mum drinks beer and she says silly things and picks on my father. Whenever she drinks beer she yells at Dad and tells him to go bury his bone down the street again, but that doesn't make any sense.'
--Jack, 7 years

Hi guys, just a quick one to say that I'm back and that the League/Pickems points are up-to-date following a couple of trips away.
The first was a trip to Glastonbury festival, which was excellent.
The second was a trip to Le Mans to compete in the kart version of the 24-hour race...we did alright but had a few problems dropping us back in the end (mid-pack in class - there were owner/driver karts as well as us in a hire-kart fleet, the owner/drivers were about 5s a lap faster than the fleet karts). A few photos may follow at some point.
Folks,
I'm off to Latitude music festival tomorrow til Monday, so won't be around to keep things tidy/do the points until Tuesday-ish.
Behave yourselves! :p
Cool, have fun!
I'll be off to Sachsenring in those days :D Hehe
Hello........
Is everyone hiding under their Doonas?? I know its cold but where is everyone????? :)
Under the duvet 12.00am - 4.00am watching le Tour, sleeping, getting up about 9am grouching that I'm tired, it's freezing cold and I'm fed up with winter. Wed evening the house creaked loudly, thought I had a burglar until I saw all the lightshades swinging. Quite a big rolling earthquake in the lower South Island. Rolling is better than rocking.
Me - moving house, busy with work - then my three kids, my wife and I (in that order) get hammered by a tummy bug over the last week... just getting back to normal now.
And you call this cold? Sure, I'm wearing a long-sleeve top for the first time since moving to Queensland, but this is only mildly cool... it's been below zero where I used to live on the last few mornings!
Yes, this is cold here in Sunny Queensland!! Although as I'm originally from a cold part of Queensland I should be used to it but no!! Its bloody cold.. and Saturday morning is really going to be COLD or so they say...around 5 I think it is to be...
And we have the cement truck arriving at 6.30am!! Timing is everything!!!!
What???? Are you getting rid of your guy????Quote:

That's a shame................Not about the concrete.....but about the poor dog......it appears that he/she has 3 legs at one end and one at the other......
Thats the second run through!! She had 2 goes at it.. Had to get it right!!Quote:

What the yard is used for so it needs concrete
We build iron-concrete construction of road designed only for the container truck, not for dog's footprint. :)
Forget moto gp an watch Real Road Racing from Ireland, as we say ( between the hedges ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtwoA4tuhFM Ryan Farquhar #77 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSJvvhpy6HgQuote:

Yeah.........right…….Ryan Farquhar is no doubt a nice bloke and great rider but I see no point in one second blip-blip footage of his bum as he disappears at 250 clicks.
We receive virtually no race footage of this really good series on TV which does not appear to get the coverage it warrants. Is the series shown on TV in the UK or is live streaming or timing available on the ‘net?
During the summer break for WSBK & MotoGP the following events are on:……….
Irish Road Racing per the thread for same,
31 July - 2 Aug. AMA SBK Heartland Park
7-9 Aug……….,BSB Brands Hatch & AUS SBK Eastern Creek.
Yeah yeah, I'll be off to Nurburgring for the WSBK manches :D :D
Nice to see that Pat is being kept busy these days, although strangely not due to pictures like this:

Not sure what's going on in the last one? Seems to be in some sort of treehouse but it's not too clear how they made the jump from bike racing to adventure playground :D
