my video of a great Deutschland Rally 2012 : WRC ADAC Rally Deutschland 2012 - YouTube
why would the world notice something that is absolutely logical at this moment? What was new this weekend in WRC world? As long as WRC is Groundhog day every rally again and again, the world has nothing to notice about. Don't get me wrong, Loeb derserves al the wins in the past, and all the future rallywins this year as he wil win Wales, Spain, France, Italy, no doubt about it. But his dominance destroys WRC because the press is not more interesting in WRC win by Loeb as they are interested in the weather report of Saoudi arabia: sunny and hot again and again and againQuote:

Media would be excited if we had 4-5 drivers fighting the wins in every rally. So alleskids; agree 100%.
There weren't actually news here. Last two rallies all news are:
Loeb takes the lead after stage 1
Loeb leads at day1 midday wrap
Leob leads after day1.
Same with other days...
Leob wins...
This is not news.
But I'm more concerned about other news - VW driver lineup for 2013 & details about Red Bull's promotion.
Hmm, so what happened to these announcements? I thought Rallye Deutschland was the place to make them?
Thanks!Quote:

Dhrontal - with the heavy rain in the wooded part of the stage, made it felt like being in Wales.

Grafschaft - Sébastien Loeb must have been driving flat out, he produced longest jump with sparks flying on landing, but still lost out to Jari-Matti Latvala.

Some really nice videos and pictures from the rally - well done everyone!
The only thing which made TV news here in Aus was Prokop's car burning to the ground..

As far as I know, it was never confirmed that the announcements would be made in Germany - it was only assumed and/or rumoured.Quote:

Speed differents @ ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2012 - YouTube
Oh yeah. If anyone isn't convinced between car differences, this tells it all. Citroen brake points are later and shorter, which allows the drivers to develop higher speed, looks like their brakes are much more effective than Ford ones. Mini though is lot further behind.Quote:

That proves nothing. Only the first spot shows big differences and why is a question. We don't know which tyre compound they had, how far in stage it was etc. There is little to invent with brakes under WRC rules. I think that if there is some major difference in brake effectiveness it's more in differential and suspension settings than in brakes itself.Quote:

It seems---for my extreeeeeeeeeemmmely limited experience----the most judgement related thing that occurs inside the car--(to contrast what happens on the stands in service or back at the builders' HQ)---is the judgement on when to brake, and how vigorously...that that almost alone is a decision internal to the driver's brain.
Of course what do i know? Just because it was just systematic hours and hours of training and concentrating just on braking was what the difference was between me being a local guy to getting paid to drive all over Western Europe and bang my head into the dirt.
Not all applications of brakes---the decision part---were created equally..

Otherwise, yes I agree the most important device in a Rally car is the Central Processing Unit between the driver's ears.
Well remember that braking is done to slow the car but every bit as important is to transfer weight around from here to there.Quote:

Might be the youngsters brake a LOT as "security blanket".. I see that a LOT al the US level..
The guys aren't going fast enough or hard enough yet many are dragging their brakes constantly because they read on some forum about "The INDISPENSABILITY!!!! of Left Foot Braking" therefore they drag their brakes till the discs glow.
That is a bit big generalisation.. there were bigger tire choice differences than just some minor differences.Quote:

I didn't said anything about power. But from braking point of view packed Citroen & Ford performance together and that kind of made me wonder. May be their brake systems are the same, I don't really know, but it was curious for me. Great video though :up:Quote:

In two of three places JML has same or higher speed before starting braking than Loeb (better to say same within the accuracy of the speedgun). Only in the first one he is so slow. How could he brake into those other corners if his brakes were so bad? Don't overestimate what You see about knowing more information to judge.Quote:
