That's the point about DRS. A driver can't defend against it. A great pass isn't just the pass itself, it's the set up before and securing it after, but with DRS the driver presses the button, overtakes, and that's it. I can't remember which driver it was (Alonso maybe) but he made a valid point about the tyres being more of a factor in the "excitement" than DRS. The disparity of performance, and so lap times, make drivers a "sitting duck" (according to Webber) and DRS just makes it even easier.
I've never argued that F1 needs more overtaking. It needs more racing. The current cars are not designed to race each other, they're designed to run in clean air and DRS does nothing to fix that problem.
