Dude, I did that during my 30min lunch break using their own spreadsheet. Enough said...
All good,
Rally was really hectic, The Toyota's were driving out of their skin. I am surprised there werent more than just the 2 rolls , the amount of jumps probably took up half of the calls on the event.
Drew Sturrock commented to me that its insane that in this country everyone goes out balls to the wall from stage 1.
I noticed that most of Dave's photos were of cars going over jumps, that did make me wonder.
Yeah the thing is here you have to be up in the front from the word go otherwise you'll just be too far back. I mean you would have missed the WRC Jordan stage but there was a big fight for the lead there but if any of those guys had lost time they would have dropped to 3rd or 4th at worse, here you can drop a long way back. Look at Cronje, lost time in the dust and overheating and just made it back into the top 5 on a rally where everything was happening.
The guy who is the most consistent points scorer is going to win this championship as I think wins will be shared around quite a lot, plus if Habig can crash out, then anyone can, he was the last guy I thought would chuck it away although I don't know yet whether it was a unlucky moment or what.
At those speeds your either lucky or your not, there are so many factors that can take you out, i just know it was a big one. Habig really looked to be on a mission when we say him pull away on SS4, you could see the cars climbing into a mountain and the determination was pretty evident, and this on a stage that could bite your backside properly.
They will no doubt be back next event even more determined.
Just seen the released official points and there are a few errors. Schalk Burger's Impreza is now classified as A7??? How does that work? And then he isn't mentioned in the manufacturers.

Hmm, not much difference in top end power between these guys, so that means the tight stuff is going to be important. Going to be an interesting rally this one, been a while since things were in the Witbank area if I remember correctly, although the old Wesbank Rally was run in that area for a while.
Just read on Rallyworld.net that JP Damseaux will have a Auris later this season. That should be interesting given how well he's driven this season so far. Are they getting serious about defending Carolyn's points lead?
