I think if Bale at Real Madrid scores the same type of goals he scored for Tottenham his profile will rise further. A player can only go so far at Tottenham. The EPL hasn't had a more exciting player as Bale for the past few years, no other EPL player has hit as many 30 yard winners or powered past defenders with as much pace. If I was Puyol I'd be pooping my pants a bit.

Sorry but on this point you are quite wrong. How can a player who started life as a left back, and who played in the EPL in this position, before being converted to a left wing, then to a centre forward/CAM be accused of being a one trick pony. He can play any position on the pitch apart from in goal.

I do agree however that if he gets his act together and his head right Suarez is a better striker, possibly a better player full-stop.

Unfair to compare him to Messi. But a similar video made about goals from Rooney, Torres and Gerrard from last season would be much duller and much shorter.
