I noticed that too. And we know how safe are marshalsQuote:

Also in Germany this has been a problem, I often seen marshalls who had no idea of what they were doing... Still better a bad marshall than no marshall (and no rally). ;)Quote:

Its childish behavior how ever you look at it.
Can you give any actual numbers from RRC and R5 then? Fabia S2000 should have top speed of 184 kph. I don't know about RRC (I only know Mini has a longer gearbox than Fiesta), but for R5 I can not believe the top speed is 20kph higher than that. From what I've seen in Ypres (Mirek can confirm), it is (thanks to the 5-speed box) not higher than 190 kph I think. Also the cars don't get to the top speed crazy much in Finland, it's just fast everywhere, but I don't remember any rpm-limiter moments. :)Quote:

I'm sure you would be proud of yourself if Hayden had rolled as a result of hitting that rock in 5th gear . The crew could have been seriously hurt. In Canada you'd be up for criminal neglect.
Its astonishingly bad.
Super gutted for Paddon, He was on a flyer on that stage, well up in the splits on Kubica to!! Positive is it didn't end his rally, only his fight... Negative is that it could well cost him a chance in the Hyundai shoot out. With so many talented drivers these days, these kind of things can cost a driver a his career...especially for some one with no budget...with few sponsorship opportunities due to living in a country so far away.Quote:

That screen grab is pretty damming. I can accept that in an area where there are no people you have to take your chances with rocks etc but the sport is dangerous enough without people acting like jerk offs. I mean how big does an object have to be before you A. warn the driver or B remove the object.
Paddon, mikkelsen, kruuda,pärn,pajunen and östberg all hit the same rock
So why didn't that idiot pick it up and move it then !!!
We can't get inside the mind of someone watching successive cars hit a rock and continuing just to watch. Spectators aren't marshalls and have no brief on removing naturally occurring hazards from the course. Indeed in some countries (Spain comes to mind) the marshalls agresssively react to spectators being on the course, regardless of the motivation. Now can we just keep the debate civilised or as an informed spectator with the ability to act I shall start removing unwanted items from this thread ;)
On a different topic - If my analysis of Meeke's brief from Matton is correct, don't expect any team orders to stay behind Mikko, this is all about desire and fight. Dani has already failed the test
As much as I like Meeke and want him to do well to prove he deserves a drive I'm still kind of uneasy about giving drivers time back when bad luck strikes. As unfair as it is his situation was not uncommon.
Okay, time to turn rally radio on as I turn in for the night.
Giving time back to Meeke did not change any positions and likely will have small, if any, effect on overall competitive driving. So time reimbursement is only fair gesture with no sporting consequencesQuote:

Yes, it's interesting to see if his fortunes will reverse for next rally. If not, Citroen will be in big trouble.Quote:

Ostberg taking second overall from Neuville, who went straight on first junction of the stage. Meeke made a spin on last junction.
Didn't Sordo say at the start of this season that if he will not have at least one win with Citroën, he'll quit rallying?
Except a moral one, how would he feel if a competitor hit the stone and had crash that hurt the crew ?
If a car was stuck in the middle of the road you would do your best to warn the oncoming car would you not?
As I said how big an object does it need to be ?

Maybe he is in belief that you stole hos girlfriend and just wants to piss you off?
Then i suppose he will quit soon, unless he can make some great asfalt rally's in the coming weeks. But he didn't impress me this year at all.Quote:

Crew knows the risk and they accept it, so nobody else doesn't need feel any worse for accidents. For some reason you have boiling kettle on the stove, have you had personal bad experience related to (rally) accident?Quote:
