Brilliant stage from Ogier. Joy to watch
BTW by the Rules if Ott will use 3rd engine tomorrow +5min will apply in Chile? If yes so why they didn't fit new engine today, get +5min today and go for full points at Sunday.
If they still fit new engine for Sunday they scrap Sunday with +5min penalty already, but got 3 rally with new engine.
If they not - any of 3 next rally will be under threat of 'another engine failure'
Ah you made me look. No, the penalty applies to the next rally - CER.
Only if a car fails to finish a Power stage they can have a third engine penalty free but the retired engine does not get used again, so they'd have to sacrifice this result to be penalty free in CER and use a new engine, as I think Tanak has finished every Power stage, and like he says, they have used two this season.
Most of the homologation and reliability rules are adding nothing and just ruining rallies.

:D Look who's talking.
If I remember correctly it was just one engine until this year and the only reason it changed was Tänaks issue at Estonia last year.
Of course there is the argument that cost saving measures like this don't change a thing as manufacturers spend the money they have, but if it wasn't for this regulation we still would have teams changing engines every other weekend.
So I'd say regulations like this actually are technically advantageous.
