Post race chats, undisclosed fines and slaps to the willy are the way in NASCAR. France actually encouraged drivers to settle it on the track last year until it was obviously getting out of control. Cheers are heard as often as gasps in the stands and I've personally heard people complain there weren't enough crashes leaving Dover more than once. NASCAR is modern day chariot racing, especially on the short tracks like Bristol, Martinsville and Richmond.
