You can buy those HPI alfa's on eBay for between 30-45 pounds ish, using 'buy it now' from certain business sellers.
I now own both the Tarquini and Simoni Minichamps models, but i would love to know how the HPI differs from the originals, whats the quility like?
I have just seen this model listed on ebay item number 250515614039. Matt Neal's 2005 Championship winning Honda Integra
I think it looks really good. Model is nicely finished and it comes on a good base with a silver plaque with the car details on it. It is at least on a par with Minichamps quality.Quote:

We're getting Autoarts version of the estate soon too. Can't wait to see that.Quote:

It is yeah. I quite like 1:18s, they display better and the difference between an average and good model really stands out.
Nought wrong with 1/18th. Cracking models to be had...
Just need masses of space and a bigger wallet.. he he.
Yeah price in particular is a problem at the moment, I luckily got the Volvos on pre-order when they were just £70 instead of the £100 they are now!Quote:

Yes I have a Ford and Holden V8 Supercar by Classic Carlectables, from what I've heard is even better than Biante. They are amazing quality, was really impressed with them, a large amount of the internals replicated.
Just won a Matt Jackson BMW 320SI AUTOart 1:18 model on ebay from 2008 for a rather expensive £103!
Can I ask what your maximum bid was? Mine was £101.00 I was the one who bumped it up with 3 secs left in a last ditch attempt
With 3 minutes to go I upped it to £110 as I thought someone would have a go at trying to take it just over £100.
I was going to go higher but I really couldnt afford it so I played safe. Enjoy the model and if you decide to get rid later, chuck it my way ;)
Well Done
Frank
I am also waiting patiantly for the HPI Volvo, i am desperate to replace my Motorart version of Rydel's estate. As for the alfa i am tempted by HPI's black test car, or their BTCC show car version.Quote:

Whatever Alfa you pick, you will be pleased.
I really hope they do the 1995 BTCC versions.
The 95 version would surely be a good seller for HPI, lets hope they do produce it.
They should produce the ASTC Volvo 850 wagons!!
Just added these to my collection...
Nice work there PDS. How difficult a job was it? Wouldn't mind a set myself! :D
Just finished a couple more model
1994 Renault 19 of Harvey (the kit was slightly damaged though)
1984 Winning Rover of Rouse (need to do it again as the donor model wasn't great)
1991 Vauxhall Cavalier of Cleland
Hoping to make the Cleland and Thompson 1995 Cavaliers next
Peter, very impressed with the conversions, wouldn't mind a set of the decals for myself.Quote:

Also is the presentation car relevant to the BTCC?
The Presentation is for the DTM not the BTCC.
If you want a set. Do what you did last time... contact me! I will have some decal sheets.Quote:

And despite the previous post, the presentation car for the BTCC is worth collecting if that is what you want. The model represents the car used to promote Alfa joining the BTCC in 1994.
I have a question for anyone who collects/makes models!!
Do you think there it's worth putting a couple of BBR models that I made in my early making days on ebay?
The models aren't brilliant as they were done before I bought a spraygun and I always struggled to attach the windows so they are lifting off the model. There are 2 Audi's (a 1996 and 1997) and a 94 Nissan.
With the fees as they are so you think it would be worth it?
Thanks
Chris.
It depends on the condition of the models you have for sale. If you have bits not sticking to the car, I assume that you have tried to re-fix the bits? Not many people would be interested and may only buy them for spares, assuming there is anything salvagable on it.
It's free listing so I put them on anyway! :D
If anyone has the Spark 1/43 Team RAC Turkington 2007 model for sale please can you contact me at [email:26peylyc]paulgibbs0808@hotmail.com[/email:26peylyc] . I was going to get one from the RAC shop but it's offline indefinately.
I just bought Gordon Spice's 1978 Capri made by Vanguards (Corgi) and its a pretty decent model. It comes with the limited edition card and a small booklet that gives you some info on the model and Gordon himself. You have to fit the mirrors yourself but thats easy.
I will be getting the other cars they have made without a doubt.
It's a nice model but Corgi got it wrong, it's actually the 1980 car rather than the 1978 car as stated. I cross referenced it in the Gordon Spice book. I'm still waiting for them to release the Hodgetts Escort, it should have been released in October! They have also announced a Vince Woodman Capri.
Yeah I noticed they are doing Hodgetts Escort. It good to get some new BTCC (BSCC) cars made. I know that Oxford Diecast made the Vectra's but they are just too poor for my liking so I never bothered buying them.
Been quietly adding a few new models to my collection -
2008 Vectra, Onslow-Cole
2008 Leon, Plato
Corgi's toy version of Rouse's 86 Sierra xr4i
I also have a Ford Sierra collection going on, rally/road cars, got a couple of those too.
I bought a 94 Cecotto ADAC Cup BMW 320i last weekend from a market stall in town, trouble is i now realise i already have one of those, i think my collection is getting a little large and i cant remember what i have got, made a couple of these mistakes now lol, or i suppose my memory might be going.
The chap also had the 94 Winklehock BTCC car for sale at a very reasonable £15, i did remember i do own that one already.
Ive now got the full set of 08 Vectras - might try to convert some to 09 cars (shouldn't be too difficult)
I just bought the Richard Longman BSCC (BTCC) Ford Escort sponsered by Royal Mail. It's another Corgi (Vanguards) model.

One for the kit builders. Harvey Labatts M3
The HPI Volvo 850 estate's are now on eBay.
Bit pricey though. £42.99 seems to be the cheapest option at the moment. Indeed eBay for BTCC models is going down hill these days, everyone is either a dealer, or they have gone down the buy it now route, hardly any bargains to be had anymore.
I paid £34 for mine..... It's a lot cheaper than the Minichamps Lammers car that keeps popping up for £126!!!!
Yes i have seen that Minichamps model, the seller is dreaming a bit there, especially now these new HPI's are out.
PDS, can i ask where you ordered yours from?
yeah daz90. Ordered mine on e-bay. A seller from Hong Kong. I have had stuff from him before. He excepted a 'best offer'.
BTW, the recomended retail in the UK is £49.99. So even the £42 price you have seen is cheaper than retail!
