Did I see completely wrong or did Lappi ran through one of chicanes on the banking? Shouldn't that be penalized?

So, Neuville restarts as the first car on the road...will we see him take penalties to drop behind the Toyotas? They would have one car less sweeping the road, but Sordo would get Neuville's sweeping...of course, depending on how snowy it is.
According to Bulletin nr 8, WRC cars get to use 2 extra snow tires (from 8 to now 10)

Lappi expecting full Monte snow
Media Zone: Lappi
"I wanted to save the snow tyres for tomorrow and the heavy rain didn't really help. On the snow tyres, the block is higher which allows you to have more water on the road. We had a lot of aquaplaning on the stage and that caused some problems.
"If the conditions are tricky, we have a chance. I think everyone is expecting a lot of snow, so it's going to be like a full Monte without the studs."
This could get real interesting tomorrow then
Sent from my GM1913 using Tapatalk

Yeah that snow is not going away, where is the original post of WRC TV Italy? should be two more pics, I can't find it.
With rain it might even turn into the "glazed" wet snow, which is actually even more slippery. Still on first stage it will be maybe max 1/2 length, second maybe nothing and 3rd like 1/3
If there was only a bit of running on that Monza track and on repeated stages, I believe this rally could be amazing contender for proper spot late in the year. Mix of elements, easy access, gravel, mud, asphalt and sometimes snow!
I was skeptical (and well at this time it isnt that amazing) but it really has potential.
So if it is snow tomorrow.
What crew used snowtyres today, and how many do they have left?
How was it for the WRC2/3, did they have unlimited access to snowrubber?

Sordo got 10 sec penalty for cutting a chicane...wonder why not Lappi then?
Both Sordo and Lappi with +10sec
are you sure about Lappi?

Steward decision no 5.
Quote:
Facts On SS6 PZERO GRAND PRIX 1, car 4 did not follow the road book instruction
(Road Book 1, page 152, box 9) and cut a section of the chicane.
Offence FIA WRC Sporting Regulation Art. 19.2
Decision A time penalty of 10 seconded to be applied to special stage time for SS6
Now both have 10sec penalties and top5 is in 7.7 seconds. After THIS day.

wow incredible news
So after all the excitement today all top 6 wrcs are within 15s and only thing than changed is the running order.....which might be very important if the road starts to clean of snow after first cars. Monte 2018 comes to mind again.
what's the difference between Snow tire and tamarc snow tire
I'm not sure, but the tarmac snow tire is the one like a wet tire. It's wide, it fit on the tarmac rim and it should have a soft compount. The snow tire it's the one used at Sweden rally, it fit on the gravel rim, it's a narrow tire with lot of stiffness on the carcas.
Something like this
Tarmac snow (left), snow (right)

Good morning Dirtfish rally friends. An all important weather update for you from the stages, and it’s not as bad as feared. First two stages of the morning are completely clear of snow. It’s currently not raining and temperatures are a few degrees above freezing.

Well, I was right then to think that roads gonna clear up. Pretty much equal conditions for drivers now.
Looking forward to today a lot.
Maybe it's because I want Evans to win the title, but I've already got it in my head that Ogier wins this event. Sordo and Tanak are huge threats to finish ahead of Evans though, which makes this day so interesting going into tomorrow. Kalle won't be allowed to finish ahead of Elfyn, but Lappi is the unknown.
Depends how much cutting there is.
Havent seen any stage videos yet, but I think theres not that much cutting on mountain roads.

Doesn't look like that much snow after all, based om the tire choices.
Have to say that I don't get why Neuville doesn't drive. If 2 Toyotas and 1 Hyundai get issues it could teoretically cost them manu title.
i dont get it too, surprised by the decision
maybe Neuville in the watersplash the engine got water and damaged the engine?
Millener sounds especially salty tbh
