EstWRC, are you alive there? :)
It may have been good if the battle had gone to Aus. But we had that fun last year and realistically Tanak was only going to need to finish the rally there.
So really it's better to have it decided here in Europe, at a perfect time and place.
Dream season, dream finish.
I fear for the 2020 season now.
Ott and Neuville in the same team and there will be politics and crap, no more three strong drivers in three teams.
And when Ogier leaves it will be even worse. Then we'll be back to VW domination again.
I hope I'm wrong.
I'm with you on that.
Congratulations to Ott Tanak and Martin Jarveoja!
This photo says it all. Maestro Loeb wins long term. His record of 9 consecutive WRC titles is sealed for yet another 9 years.

Congratulations @OttTanak and Martin, you deserved this Title. The time on the last stage pretty much summed up why. #worldchampion P.S - slow down next year please. 😬 https://t.co/RhiumC41sf

Karl Kruuda said in "Kuues käik" podcast that some people even drove 36 hours in car to be at the powerstage because there werent any plane tickets available anymore :D
Always a great show in WRC with this guys flat out on gravel and tarmac :D

Tanak arriving at the Toyota garage...
https://twitter.com/Ryan_Champion/st...79316822237184
watch the last paragraph..
"Thierry did another amazing race, we have to say thanks, he did a great race, he showed again that he was a great professional and someone to whom I have a lot of confidence. helped Hyundai to become the car she is today, I'm very happy to work with him and Nicolas, "said Adamo at Olivier Gaspard's microphone.
Defeated by Ott Tänak for the drivers title, Adamo makes his Mea Culpa. "It was not as fast in the beginning as the Toyota, we did not give a competitive car to our drivers at the beginning of the season," he admitted.
He then joked about the rumors of a possible arrival of Tänak at Hyundai next year. "If he comes for free tomorrow I make him the 'pasta alla carbonara' At this point, the line-up is not decided yet, I can only say that it's easier to manage pilots who ride very fast . "

Looking through the post-event interviews, they only did Meeke, Tommi, Adamo and Latvala (who didn't say anything interesting).
- Meeke said the ending comment with ".. (Tanak) can win many more title if he is in the right car"
- Tommi said that Tanak changed from last year, not just pushing to win every stage
- Adamo looked pissed (like usual) about loosing 2nd and commented that, not a single word (or question) about Loeb. Dunno why they don't ask, he is very direct in his comments about everyone, if they only ask.
I agree that Budar was close to invisible whole weekend. Might be due to Alllive team not going for him for interviews though. Since 2nd stage and then Lappi retirement , there wasn't much to ask about though.
Waiting for press conference.

One should really look to MSport´s important efforts in the Tanak "story". And me personally I´m proud to have seen him in the very beginning of his international career att Pirelli Shoot Out on Ruuhimäki in 2008 or 2009.
TGR press release is out. No comment from Akio Toyoda... He has usually congratulated team on goid results. I wonder if this has meaning in light of these rumors...
Btw. with all this excitement almost nobody talked about Katsuta. While I am generally very negative of him his speed here was actually quite good. Halved the s/km loss compared with Germany (though "easier" roads probably helped with that).
Now in addition to Autosport, this:

5000 euro fine for Neuville for doing donuts before podium:

Though just about all drivers did donuts yesterday after the SSS but that is ok since it was in mediazone/service?
Btw. according to the vid report of his rally Neuville flew to Spain from Monaco piloting his helicopter:
