Ogier going fastest on SS9 I think.

Ogier going fastest on SS9 I think.
9 out of 9 possible stage wins for Lappi in WRC2. After SS8 he said he's using 70% of his potential. I really hope he makes it to the finish line, because he really deserves it. He is an exceptional talent.
I was on stage 7 at 8km tight left corner. Only 4 spectators and all of them finnish :)
Toni Gardemaister one of us there. We saw 3-spins, nothing more. Opposite side of the hill was that river which stopped 3 of the r3t cars. Water to the engine air suction.
Lappi is indeed doing a great job, you could say everything is going as planned. New event, very good speed and most definately not pushing maximum after the last event...
I have talked with other competitors and people close to him and based on that really think he has everything that is needed to keep the package together. That includes driving skills but also mental side, determination, and analytical mindset to keep improving and tackle the hard moments.
I'll hope there is no off just after saying this... :)
Kikireshko is out off road. Hope he can restart tomorrow
Kubica finally out :(
Will the academy guys drive the long stage tomorrow?
No, WRC-3 finishes todayQuote:

At least Barrable is still going in WRC2 - an achievement with all the retirements today ! :)
Citroën without Loeb is in really bad shape.
Moura broke the chassis?
Boring....... :( No intrigue's, big differen's..... Rally could be finished today... Difficult rally with only long stages.
Imagine this rally without Rally2...Quote:

Lappi fast andwill be a real WRC-driver I think very soon. Hopefully. He should be this fast at this point, even though PG is faster. The time will show if he gets faster than PG. PG is a good marker becuase he is FAST!!
The Polos are at a developement phase beyond the current Fords and Citroens for sure. That´s why the other drivers chase themselves off the road.
Pontus Tidemand another coming WRC-driver winning the Junior class with almost three minutes.
Nice to see latvala getting setting some good ss times. But still lacking that extra something Ogier has. But a massive improvement nonetheless!
...... Imagine spectating this rally without rally 2.... But how much do we all complain about it??Quote:

I partially agree with you - Lappi and Tidemand are indeed the young brightest stars of rally. It will be really interesting to see how they do with full WRC setup when that day comes (well, it did for Pontus already and he showed some talent...) In the case of Lappi comparisons, however, to any driver outside the official WRC2 class are not appropriate now. We know it and he has said it also that he is not driving even close to his full potential - and that is of course what he has to do when the situation is like this. I don't know what PG's motives are for this rally and whether he is pushing really hard or not. If he can battle his way into the official WRC2 in one of the upcoming events, we probably see how he's doing against other top drivers, including Lappi.Quote:

I really don't understand why he get so much opportunities to drive in top factory teams. He did nothing by Subaru, was a lot slower than Grönholm by Ford and was beaten by Latvala in pure speed. Hirvonen only won one event last year with probably the best car.Quote:

Consistency? I guess that is more important for the team than pure speed and... crashes.Quote:
