short video from shakedown:

It was Mats Jonsson in a Ford Escort WRC from 1996, his time on SS2 14:54,2Quote:

Pontus Tideman has also performed excellent times, I think he should be top 3 in WRC with thoose, 12:15,7 on SS3 (PG 12:10,1) 11:40,0 on SS4 (Östberg 11:36,5)
The times of the "local maniacs": http://193.12.114.105/rally/resultat...sp?tavling=456
Did he use 15" or 16" in the morning stages 2-4??Quote:

Is HANS mandatory in the Swedish championship runners ?
In an interview he was really disappointed and it seems that he didn't had any 15` tires and I assume he drove with 16` tires in the morning as well.Quote:

SS2-SS4
Ostberg 38:29
Jonsson 39:25
That's 56 second difference , which approximately means that Jonsson would be 4th overall , in front of JML :)

Comparing from different years in not right, but it is usefull just for reference.
So....
2010 Likenas2 1)Mikko 11.37,7 2)Sordo 11.42,1 3)Loeb 11.48,5 1st s2000 crew Andersson 12.06,5 (+28,8 from ss winner)
2011 Likenas2 1)Ogier 11,39,5 2)Loeb 11.42,8 3)Andersson 11.47,7 1st s2000 crew Sandell 12.12,1 (+32,6 from ss winner)
NOT slow at all!! even with much more worst conditions.
Another point is that according to drivers, smaller wheelbase is not better at high speed rallies as some mates were saying against me. :p
ps On Sunday there is another ss that was same as ss4 at 2010 Torntorp - 19.21 km .Lets wait to see also in this ss the comparison.
nice pics :D
What? Is it this year mandatory to use 15" rims+ ice tyres even in FWD car??Quote:

Interesting stats but it would be better to compare Sandell 2010 with Sandell 2011... However even though I think the new cars are slower like others have said this is not a problem at all if they sound and look more entertaining on the stages. For me the Focus WRC was far more boring to watch than an S2000 car even though it was much faster.Quote:

Thats right.lol!Quote:

Looking at the videos and photos so far it doesnt look like the WRC anymore :(
The new WRC cars look so small compared to the Focus and C4... not much better than IRC cars really.
I cant see them bringing in any more fans or viewers ...
To be honest I miss the WRC cars aswell, but it will probably be a question of time till we get used to the new cars.
The ESPN round up is showing here at the moment if anyone is interested:

Pontus Tidemand doing really fast times in the national championship. He did a mistake on SS2, Vargåsen but else his times is really fast.
( Third and second overall first loop of the stages and around 10 overall if you compare to second loop of the stages)
We cant compare cause Sandell at this ss in 2010.....SANDELL P. / AXELSSON E. (st. č. 24) "In the end we tried to brake, but we went straight, had to reverse but then found, that we have no reverse gear."Quote:

For rallies on asphalt, only 7’’ x 17’’ rims may be used.
No word about snow and ice there
In supplementary information there is only description of studs
So, I cannot find the reaosn why he cannot use wider tyres
Flodin excluded . Wrong rims on the car.

Seems that FIA delegates in Sweden do not understand any other word but exclusion. I am currently trying to find the regulation that says: it is not allowed to use 16`tyres for non priority 2WD car. But I cannot find it anywhere. Anyone better than me with searching? However, I found those rules that caused Flodins exclusion. Those rows were even marked in yellow in appendix J.Quote:
