It's gearbox linked with two specific rallys. Engine could be fitted anyone of 2 "homologated" per season. But using 3rd engine in year it's 5 min time penalty on a rally where it's newly fittedQuote:

Well, it did save money on a new engine and they weren't rewarded for having a supply of new engines that shouldn't need to be built. The cost saving rules prefer endurance over performance and their engine failed that. They might want to look at the design, materials and manufacturing process.
