And having the wrong different codriver crowned. Enni Mälkönen won when the rules as they are written are actually applied.

We had a really good rally this year!
Shakedown and SS1 on thursday were nice. Good atmosphere at the stadium!
Friday we did Harvati first, than Loutraki 2, few minutes by car, perfect!
Left Loutraki 2 after the WRCs and made it just in time at Livadia and after that also Bauxites with a very good spot at the final corners. Excellent day!
Saturday 3 stages, Perivoli 1, Pyrgos 2 and Tarzan 2. Good spots, but not as good as fridays :)
Sunday 2 stages, first Elatia-Rengini at the watersplash and than the powerstage.
Before the rally we were convinced next year we would choose Sardinia next year instead of Greece, but not sure now after this weekend. Photos will follow later!

OK let me get my tie on and a peg on my nose.
Double points in Greece should only apply to the driver and they haven't nilled off one poor co-drivers round in the standings. Hoy and Korhonen have more points than Armstrong and Joona, should that make any sense? Unless I'm missing something, like Malkonen being a senior which shouldn't be a problem, I guess they have a secret clubhouse reason to crown Hoy. That's fine, it's how it goes, we've been here before and if she's not bothered, I'm not.
FIA are yet to publish their version of the standings though.
and the most important after-rally topic is ready to be opened for you :)

For once I'd give Sordo much less, like 5/10. Long time since he was so slow vs others on gravel.
Same with Katsuta, he had 40s slower time on gravel stages than a Rally2 car. 2/10
Breen 5/10 max, but that's just a detail.
Surprised he gave Greensmith so little, I'd even consider giving 5/10.
Back from the rally. We made a wise move and booked ourself an accommodation in Loutraki for one night, so we didn't have to drive the mega long road section so early on Friday morning. Saw SS 2/4 (Loutraki) and then moved to SS 6 (Livadia) by the powerplant (tip by NOT). Unfortunately our rental car had a puncture over there, so we arrived quite late and couldn't pick the best viewing spot, but still a nice place. On Saturday we took it easy and just did SS 9/12 (Perivoli) twice, with lunch, regroup and service in between. Sunday on Elatia at the watersplash. Have to say, Loutraki city is so much nicer than Lamia... Wouldn't mind if the rally moved over there in the future.
But could someone explain me the thinking of Greek rally fans? This happend on every stage: as soon as there is somebody trying to cross the stage between cars, all the greek people suddenly go very hysterical and begin shouting, whistling etc. Even though you are at a place where you can see/hear the car for kilometers before they reach you and you know, there are 3 minutes intervals. And at the same time you see other Greek people standing in the most stupid places, taking selfies in hairpins and nobody cares. Was quite fascinating.

At this stage it's hard to know if he gives such moronic ratings because he is incompetent, or just to generate clicks / discussion. I hope for his sake it's the latter, but either way, you can't help but get the feeling that pretty much anyone else could do a better job.
Well, to be fair he's not really a rally expert. He came into the sport from a marketing/ promotion background...
The problem with him is that while not having any background in rallying and in many years being close to almost everything in rallying he has not evolved even close to expert level.
While even recently I have started to agree on some of his thoughts, he is still way way way off and mostly talking nonsense.
"- Let's try to make the right decisions in the tests now. It didn't work out in Greece - it went wrong on all of us, and it wasn't just the drivers' fault, says Rovanperä."
(Google translated, hopefully there is no "lost in translation" issue here)

So Rovanperä makes critical and public statement, that team made mistake. Something new for me.
Estonia 2020? Arctic 2021? Even Finland 2021? I think they admitted they tested on wrong types of roads
Going into more detail on the issue which ended his Acropolis, the Frenchman believes the alternator bearing was to blame.
“I took everything apart to make the alternator loose so that we could put the belt back on and make it strong,” he explained. “I rebuilt everything and it was on a downhill, so we could jump-start the car.
“The engine started but 200 metres later it switched off again. The belt had jumped off again, so I think the bearing of the alternator broke was broke.”

The WRC Rally 1 top class is not fun anymore. Each rally this year has become more and more a lottery because of technical problems, handling problems which vary from Rally to Rally, from team to team. This is much less a factor with the current Rally 2 cars which are much more durable. I would be happy to trade in the Rally 1 cars for a much closer fight with Rally 2 and Rally 3 cars only.
Rumours say next year base will be in Loutraki
It is not a rumour, the maire of loutraki confirmed it to us "on stage", deal for 2 years, minister of sport equally present, acknowledged
Loutraki stages are also traditional and easier to follow.
Also Loutraki is a nicer city next to the beach. To be honest, I have missed SS Klenia a bit!
It would be a good choice to move the rally from Lamia to loutraki.
There will probably be a new government and new mayors in Loutraki and Lamia by this time next year,so take nothing for granted. Even the rally itself could well not take place... It's just the sad truth.
Without the vast government support the last iterations of Acropolis have received, nothing is guaranteed. Don't think especially you need to be told how things work in Greece...
Lets not spread rumors once again. Rally Acropolis has contract for at least one more year. Lets not speculate.
Its not that i trust greeks... but i trust the FIA vultures when it comes to money that they have their asses covered.
