No chance to fight back ... even for Ogier...it's disappointing weekend so far for him
shame for Lappi, otherwise we would have had 6 drivers in 15 seconds. Still top 5 within 13.2 seconds, look forward to tomorrow... A bit surpised by Latvala, despite road position still a bit out of pace in my opinion based on his skills and experience
Hello new studio presenter. :D
Ogier his road order was bad, yes. And will be again. But he didn't complain when he opened the Friday stages in Monte Carlo pulling out all the mud for the drivers further back. You win some, you loose some. In Mexico he will not have to open.
Also, 2WD cars being faster then WRC cars because it wasn't ploughed. It happened on Monte Carlo on saturday morning too, with Nucita (or the other Abarth) taking a 5th time or something like that.
Awesome day for Neuville, hope he can keep it :)

Ogier: "If there were norwegians or swedish people opening the road they could have made a different work with the snow"
French speaking guys can confirm if that is a right translation?
Day 1 impressions:
In general as expected, with so much snow on the road and overnight snowfall the first runners were bound to loose a lot.
Positive:
- Paddon finaly back to some speed
- Breen
Negative:
- Meeke (sure road position wasn't best but still he was 2nd slowest after Ogier and Evans with puncture))
- Evans (again the words of Colin Clark about Evans fighting for title this year in any car come to mind)
If the cheating nordics had one of their guys first on the road you can bet your ass they’dve ploughed the damn snow
Translation of what Ogier was saying (without the diplomacy filter!)
Well, he is and was...
As I said before, don't get your hopes up for a fight for the win. Breen and Ostberg will drop back without road advantage to Neuville, and considering Neuville finished day 1 ahead of both of his team mates who had better road position, this is his rally if he keeps it on the road. Would love to be proven wrong though

Frustration is not an emotion but an attitude. An inability to accept things as they are and to hold others accountable for their own satisfaction. And for your simple satisfaction you do not have to ruin the existence of all those around you. When you enter the World Rally Championship you know the rules and accept them. Otherwise you do something else. There's only one who makes a mess.
FFS, that attitude is rallying on paper! Rules would mean a slight disadvantage, not 3 drivers, all capable of winning the event, were on the podium last year, two of whom have won it several times and one even started it with two stage wins and then BAM, they are 8,9 and 11, loose to a FWD car driven by a person first time in this event, because some part was left unploughed and with small chances of even getting into the top 5. And the biggest issue is...they dare to say, it sucks, they can`t be humans with emotions, they have to lie it`s dandy, just to keep some happy ( and others thinking wth has happened to fast drivers).
What him, and others here fail with that reasoning is that it happened on the Swedish side, not the Norwegian. And it is the Norwegians that would gain from it.
Also, none of us knows the rules and laws regarding the snowplough in Norway v Sweden. In no other situation you'll see the same person on both sides of the border.
From a spectator PoV this have been one amazing day with proper snow conditions. Ogier complained the last years as well (even though he had advantage then). He'll never be happy here.
Does anyone have pics of the latter part of SS4? From the sounds of it, the amount of snow is much more than what came down during the night!
Sidenote: We met the plough on SS Svullrya around 0430 local time today :-)
Umm, well, yes, i was not talking about that specifically but the frustration started before like i mentioned. Probably quite hard to mentally adjust to pushing hard and chasing hundreths. Although those second runs have also been more friedlier, last year podium for example, with small changes, identical to RMC.
So happy for Breen and Paddon - if anyone, it's those guys who deserve some success for once. And yes, WRC+ All Live has been wonderful today.
So a horrendous day for M-Sport's top two...
But a pretty decent job by Suninen on just his 3rd WRC1 drive.
And good to see a Fiesta R5 leading WRC2.
There's always positives if you look hard enough ! ;)
had to be done

Ogier: "It's been a difficult day, I couldn’t do anything. I tried but I can't be faster. When you lose more than 1.5s/km in the 2nd loop, there must be something wrong somewhere because I don’t think that's my normal rhythm. I'm far, far away, there's no real target."
