If he's not 100% fit they just have to leave parc ferme in the morning and can retire again for a Sunday re-start...
Ogier quote about the accident:
“When I reached the corner, I just braked slightly late, not so much, but the combination of that and the broken damper meant I lost the rear. I had quite a big side impact with a tree and that was game over."
Fantastic Rally so far and amazing show from Lappi and Sunninen; being able to be as fast as Latvala on their initial outings in a WRC car is the proof they’re already outstanding drivers. Hats off, again, to Makinen and his staff at TMR/TGR. Evans, Ostberg and Breen are also doing a fine rally. Meeke’s struggling a bit, but getting back the confidence in a steady way seems a better plan than crash before the end of leg 1. Neuville not in top form today; he’ll hopefully improve tomorrow and, who knows, maybe he’ll leave Finland leading the series (that would be a first in the last 4 years!). Huttunen (P3 at WRC2) is the other young Finn making wonders, but there’s still hope for the French...Ciamin (19 yo) is dominating JWRC, ahead of compatriot Folb. Hope 2nd leg gets even better!
Btw, great coverage from you all; it’s much nicer to get the news here than hearing the expat british squad on WRC radio...
Went to both runs in Urria and Laukaa today. Lappi really impressive. Neuville looking fast, but isn't. Has it something to do with top speed?
The cars are utterly amazing, but what really struck me is this rally, these roads. Unbelievable. Finland is the mother of all rallies.
Camping near Ouninpohja now, enjoying some Karhu's. A dream come true. Bring on tomorrow - my birthday! :)

Tomorrow we will see how much did Esuppi gain from his starting order.

Btw. the Hanninen dmg, wasn't it very much similar to what Paddon did in Sardinia and immediately retired with?
No surprise the other drivers were so interested in it on that picture:

cause driving 3 stages on it and even beating Latvala on one of those is truly impressive
"Toyota are useless slow dogs"
How come no sign of side impact?

Let's enjoy the Finns on their home ground. Unfortunately, time to Germany and asphalt is not far away.

Gooood morniinnng from Päijälä! Time to eat and drink coffee and go to the stage. We are doing ouninpohja in the afternoon!
I hope we can make it because it was madness with the traffic yesterday and we got see just 3 stages instead of 5.
Let's see how young Finnish guys perform on these famous stages and of course hoping that Tänak can make up some places.

In agreement with the organisers, we have retired Sebastien to allow Julien more time to recover. Hopefully they'll be back tomorrow. #WRC
Is WRC radio not working for anyone else?
