I think they have still to receive +5 mins penalty for retiring, yes? In that case Al Qassimi would be 9th :vader:Quote:

Looks like we are expecting cold winter in Europe..Neuville is trying to cut some wood everywhere .-P
If I get it correctly, Jari-Matti will start tomorrow in 10th place, right? There are still 5 minutes to add to his time (from +9:27 to +14:27?)
No, the time is correct. A driver only gets 10min when retires on last stage of the leg, these time already have the 5min of Rally2.
oh, I thought you'd get those additional 5 mins anyway, I've never been good with SuperRally rules, thanks :)
congrats to Tidemand for that brilliant win in JWRC!
But it's hard to be glad at this moment...
No, he gets 5+5 from stage winner. You get 10 minutes when its is the last stage of the day. When the stage is cancelled, then there is no penalty. So, withs ome crazy driving he can reach to fifth..Quote:

Brynildsen's Fiesta looks very soft and too high, almost like a gravel setupQuote:

An update in the gallery: ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2013
This is surely a day that would've been better not to happen. Our condolences to the families of those who died in the accident. Our beloved sport is dangerous but these things shouldn't happen.
We did three stages today in a relaxed schedule. First at Stein & Wein on a wall in hairpin left into right. No drama, but it was spectacular place. Watched until Kubica, then a switch to Panzerplatte. We did the same place as last year with view over two approaches and two left corners. This time they allowed spectators on the inside of the X, so it was different and more clearer view now. Nothing bigger there this year, few flat tyres or such. Off to Peterberg 2, and then the news started to pour in. First Latvala's retirement, huge disappointment but it soon got perspective after the worse news reached us. By then, WRC event was rather calm with so many retirements and more came in. Wiegand (see picture) came through with bent rear tyre. Also one of the JWRC crews span into the field there (it was the left hander with nothing behind near the finish of the stage).
One short day left. At least there's short gap between the first two. If the logic of the event continues, it should be Neuville for the win then.
Thierry Neuville interview:
“It was a difficult afternoon. Where we had the problem on SS12, I was already 20km/h slower than usual but I think we should have probably been another 20km/h slower than that! We were very lucky because it could have been easy to lose the whole rally there.
“Jari-Matti [Latvala] had brought a lot of mud onto the road which sent me sliding wide. We hit a log pile which damaged the exhaust and left us slightly down-on-power for the remainder of the loop. But I think we managed the situation well and we achieved the maximum in the circumstances.
“We are definitely going to push tomorrow and we will attack from the start. But we won’t take any unnecessary risks – especially if the weather is as tricky as it was this afternoon. We need to be clever and keep all four wheels on the road. It will not be an easy day, but we are ready to fight and give it our all.”
Good luck Thierry, I think we all hope you beat Sordo... ;)
