i assume you mean atko 05 rally Japan from HPI or NZ from IXO since there has been no 2005 Rally Australia Atkinson release.......unless there is something you aren't telling us :p

For the rally car collectors in USA, HPI is having a limited time offer of FREE Petter's Impreza WRC2005 from Rally Japan with a purchase of any 1/43 model.

I just brought tamiya's releases of the 205T16i group b car, a Hasegawa 1992 Celica (red and white livery) driven by Carlos Sainz, and have the tamiya 307WRC with Henning Solberg's stickers ready for it!
Going to be a good couple of builds!! As soon as I get my big scale Lotus 49 F1 car out of the way!!!
I have the Pirelli 307 in the works. Tamiya kit with Rennaissance decal set.Quote:

How does HPI rank as far as quality?
JB
Judging from one model I have (Impreza WRC2005), I must say HPI is much better than IXO and as good as Autoart. But WRC2005 is their first product, and I heard their second generations models (2006 models) are better than first generation. I'll see in couple days when I get my shipment.Quote:

The reason I ask this is because I have been a fan of the car and I amtrying to get Abrex to make some
Quality on these cars is excellent. The only issue is that their 2005 Japan cars had tarmac spec wheels; i'm unsure what surface the Arai test-car ran but it might also have the same problem of not having gravel spec. But for the 2006 Monte car it looks great from the pictures i've seen.Quote:

the white s12 is not being touted as a works car though so there is no problem- might easily be run in that colour by a privateer in the future ;)
HPI corrected that mistake in all 2006 models of Impreza, so Petter & Arai's car for Rally Japan and Arai's test car all have gravel wheels on the model. I am waiting for Arai's Rally Japan car to be available in the US....Quote:

Is there someone who knows where to buy a McRae Subaru 97/98? (Best would be somewhere in Holland :D )
there are no McRae 97/8 subarus available in 1/18 the only way to get one would be to take a 99 Burns Monte car from AA and rebadge it in McRae livery
OK, Thanks..Quote:

Plenty of choice in 1/43, 1/32 and 1/24, even 1/10 Radio control for McRaes Subarus from these yearsQuote:

I've got a 1/18 scale model of Carlos Sainzs 1997 Repsol Ford Escort WRC from that years Network Q Rally of Great Britain.
On a smaller sacle, Delacours 1991 Q8 Seirra from the Monte Carlo rally.
Penttis Autoglass Seirra from the 1990 Lombard RAC rally (before the accident that is) and Kulangs 1981 Opel Asconna 400 from the Sweddish Rally
I've bought a Fiat 131 Abarth - M.Alen model from rally Portugal 1/18 ! A model by Kyosho and I've got a Lancia Delta Integrale D. Auriol form rally Monte Carlo also a Kyosho model 1/18! I want to ask you where I can buy Kankunen's Ford Escort WRC 1/18 !
I received shipment of HPI Impreza WRCs today. The model of Petter's Impreza WRC2006 from Monte was awsome looking with some fine details. But the other one, Petter's Impreza WRC2005 from Japan, wasn't so great to say the least.....
I guess HPI bolted the model so tight to the base that the bottom of the model cracked and split into half. I've never seen anything like this with any of the diecast model manufacturers. This is the worst defect of all :(
Early Toy Fair news shows limited rally releases planned by Minichamps for 07 namely a Barth Porsche 924 GTS from the Monte, Rossi Monza rally Focus WRC and a MK2 Escort. However they are planning to do the Sierra Cosworth driven by Ayrton Senna in a UK magazine test in both 1/43 and 1/18th.
let's hope they will do some 1/18 rallyversions in future (2008,2009,....)of the Mk2 (Eaton Yale, British Airways, Cossack,....)
