As far I know Lukyanuk will not be in Rally Islas Canarias WRC 2026

Two Special Stages inside Gran Canaria Stadium !!! Amazing
Dear spectator,
Through this notice, the Organizing Committee of the Rally Islas Canarias – Rally de España 2026 informs you of a modification to the location of the SSS1 special stage. This change is due to circumstances beyond the control of the organization.
NEW STAGE LOCATION
The Super Special stage that was originally scheduled to take place at the Circuito de Jinámar will now be held at the Estadio de Gran Canaria. The Organizing Committee has designed a spectacular layout that will allow spectators to enjoy a top-level experience within a first-class sports venue. All attendees will be able to comfortably enjoy the show seated in the stadium stands.
EVENT FORMAT
In order to compensate for the change of location and ensure maximum excitement for the event, the Organizing Committee has scheduled two runs of the same stage:
• First run: Thursday, April 24, at 18:05 — the only stage of the day.
• Second run: Friday, April 25, at 19:45 — the closing stage of the day.
Both sessions will feature two cars starting simultaneously on the track, increasing the excitement and spectacle for the audience. In addition, prior to each timed stage, an entertainment program will take place in the Service Park and on the track itself, so the experience begins well before the first car starts.
VALIDITY OF ALREADY PURCHASED TICKETS
Your current ticket remains fully valid to access the Estadio de Gran Canaria on both days — Thursday and Friday — without the need to complete any additional procedure or purchase a new ticket. No action is required on your part.
Spectators who purchased a parking ticket will have a parking space available in the areas surrounding the Estadio de Gran Canaria.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this change of location may cause and thank you for your understanding. The Organizing Committee has worked to ensure that this modification represents an improvement in the spectator experience, and we are confident that you will enjoy a show worthy of the 50th edition of the Rally Islas Canarias – Rally de España.
For any questions or assistance related to your ticket, you may contact the spectator support service at: ayuda@entradascanarias.com
Sincerely,

Minor changes to the itinerary due to the storm that hit the Canary Islands for a week. Only the direction of one stage changes; it will now be "Mogán-La Aldea."
RALLYE ISLAS CANARIAS-RALLY DE ESPAÑA. WRC - FIA World Rally Championship.
MODIFICATIONS TO THE ITINERARY.
The 50th edition of the Rally Islas Canarias – Rally de España adopts an unprecedented format, consisting for the first time of four days of competition (April 23 - 26). This will allow spectators to experience the WRC (World Rally Championship) action with greater intensity than ever before.
The innovative ‘BP Ultimate – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’ show stage will kick off the itinerary on Thursday afternoon, hours after the ‘Santa Brígida’ shakedown (6.26 km), and will also complete the following day's leg. This will be one of the main attractions of the Rally Islas Canarias – Rally de España’s golden anniversary, marking a significant milestone: it will be the first time an international event in our country holds a super special stage inside a football stadium.
The damage caused in numerous areas of Gran Canaria by the recent DANA (severe storm) that hit the archipelago forced the organizing committee to react with skill and agility to reconstruct the itinerary originally planned for Friday, April 24th.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and all local city councils, the first full day of the 50th Rally Islas Canarias – Rally de España will continue to feature a three-stage loop, which introduces several updates.
As planned, the section will open with ‘Valleseco - Artenara’, whose starting point has been moved forward compared to the first published itinerary. The stage route will also be longer in its final section.
‘Tejeda - San Mateo’ moves to the middle of the loop and becomes the longest stage of the day, potentially playing a decisive role during the first leg.
Friday's sections will be completed by ‘Mogán - La Aldea’, run in the opposite direction of what was initially intended; thus, it becomes a completely new stage for the WRC teams.
The organizing committee, in collaboration with the FIA and WRC Promoter, has reworked Friday’s roadbook based on the new circumstances, ensuring optimal alternative routes and more comfortable, accessible paths to both the stage starts and the Service Park at the Gran Canaria Stadium.
The itinerary designed for the Saturday and Sunday legs remains exactly the same as presented in February, with a total of more than 300 timed kilometers.
The longest stage of the rally continues to be ‘Moya - Gáldar’, the third and final stage of the loop on the penultimate day, which will open with ‘Maspalomas’ and ‘Arucas - Firgas - Teror’.
The pillars of Sunday's leg will be two stages completely unknown to the WRC teams: ‘Ingenio - Telde - Valsequillo’, another major addition to the route, and ‘Santa Lucía - Agüimes’, designated for the first time as the ‘Wolf Power Stage’.
This special distinction will place the spotlight on the bonus-point stage and its decisive role in the competition, serving as the grand finale to the iconic 50th edition of the Rallye Islas Canarias – Rally de España.

GRÉGOIRE MUNSTER TO DRIVE HYUNDAI CANARIAS "ZERO CAR" AT GRAN CANARIA, RALLY ISLAS CANARIAS-RALLY DE ESPAÑA
The 50th Rally Islas Canarias, which this year reaffirms its status as the Rally de España in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), is adjusting its star lineup for the vehicle responsible for opening each timed stage. Hyundai Canarias has officially announced that WRC driver Grégoire Munster will take the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 as the "zero car" for the Spanish round of the WRC.
The talented Luxembourgish driver replaces Teemu Suninen in this crucial role. The Finn is unable to attend the island event after accepting a new sporting project to compete in the European Rally Championship (ERC). In response, Hyundai Canarias has once again demonstrated its commitment to motorsport and the passionate Canarian fans by securing a world-class driver to maintain the highest standards of performance and safety.
An Elite Driver to Certify World-Class Safety
Established in the WRC elite, Munster will bring his valuable international experience and proven speed to the demanding asphalt roads of the archipelago. His deep understanding of the pace and dynamics of the top category makes him the ideal figure for the zero car role—especially having competed in the Rally Islas Canarias twice before: in 2020 behind the wheel of a Rally2 and in 2025 with a top-tier Rally1 car.
As the first vehicle to cover the stages at competition pace, the driver’s role is fundamental in certifying track safety conditions just before the WRC competitors pass through. To face this challenge on the Canarian asphalt, Munster will drive a very special unit: the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 from the Hyundai Canarias Motorsport team. This is the same vehicle the local team is using throughout the current rally season in the islands.
COMMITMENT TO MOTORSPORT
This lineup update underscores the firm commitment of Hyundai Canarias, the official importer of the brand in the archipelago, to the development of motorsport. Having a WRC star drive the regional team’s car highlights the excellent synergy between the brand's global sporting division, Hyundai Motorsport, and its official importer in the Canary Islands.
With the confirmation of Grégoire Munster, Hyundai Canarias not only guarantees a spectacular and safe start to the rally but also proves once again that the brand is a key driver for sports in the islands, elevating local motorsport to world-class standards.
