Bad news for the Brits - Allen crashed and Armstrong had a puncture.
Team of Henning Solberg arrived to Sweden without proper knowledge about tyre rules in ERC...

This is brand new rule introduced before last season. Each tyre manufacturer "nominate" type of tyres which can be used during the season. Before each race they also need to send list of nominated barcodes (I expect team of Solberg didnt do it, so we will see what will happen later). Pirelli has nominated only K4A, K6A and K8B. More info here - https://www.fia.com/sites/default/fi..._suppliers.pdf
Personally I dont like this rule, for me it is only another stupid bureaucracy. But it was introduced after pushing by Michelin and Pirelli, because on season before MRF brought completely different tyres and compounds for their drivers best suitable for that event...
6 drivers within 1 second on SS7:

Great time by Mabellini on Colin's 1 - beating all the Scandi drivers !
Östberg lost +38 sec on SS8. Puncture rear right.

Tough break for the later runners with the rain.
Qualifying Stage winner Philip Allen was fifth overall after four stages only to go off the road on a slippery Tarmac section 8.2 kilometres into SS5.
“The Tarmac’s definitely slippier than I thought it was going to be,” Allen said. “When I turned it in it started to drift and I obviously floored it and didn’t get it back, simple mistake. I thought I was driving within myself all morning, safe, clean, no real moments but, obviously, these things are happening. It just went backwards off the road, there isn’t actually much damage, I think we should get going tomorrow. It’s more just the back panel and the boot lid that’s got damaged, the rest is 100 per cent.”
He admits that it was his own mistake:
“We just went a bit too early in a corner over a crest and hit a bit of rock on the inside that was sticking out and I didn’t spot it on the recce,” Armstrong explained. “These stages you start going more early everywhere because everyone is doing it and just end up seeing lines that weren’t there when you started so we got a puncture and stopped to change it. It’s frustrating because we had the stage win on the one before that.”

Shame for Mads... if he wanted a real shot at the title, he needed very strong results in Scandinavia and Poland, before the final rounds on tarmac. But he can still recover some places tomorrow.
Really nice fights, many drivers and brands up there!

It is so pity that almost nobody from swedish drivers is not doing in international field, but only nationa, which is doing only half of stages...
#117 is Mats Jonsson. There are quite many Mirages tho..

seems Pirellis and Hancocks are best in these conditions...
The times are amazingly close here
Hello from the Royal Forrest stage,
Really enjoying this rally so far, great battle at the front, one mistake could cost a win or podium. I know not everybody likes it but great to see the locals compete with and beat the ERC regulars, especially a young local like Riersen. Impressed by Johannsson's pace today too, beating Ostberg and Marczyk on all stages so far.
Driver interviews are far more interesting and entertaining than WRC as well, they seem more open and maybe relxaed than the WRC. (Not meant as a criticism of the WRC drivers)
Interesting spots to watch the rally :)

Oh, dear. Just when we all wanted to hear Brynhildsen interview, they cut for next stage...!!! Are they robots, or what???
Having Henning Solberg has also been great on this rally. Someone entertaining to watch and interview running early on each stage.
Did Allen crash again?
