Well at least someone over there at Hyundai thinks it's possible this year.
Don´t forget Pickems. Less than 21 hrs before closing...

Camilli withdrew from the entry list: apparently, he has parted way with Sainteloc after the mechanical issue that forced him to retire in Portugal before 1st stage (or maybe Citroen has stopped their support as Camilli has no more hope for WRC-2 title).

Starting 9.01, there´s nothing right now... :(
Edit: Spectators issue. Safety reasons... Why can´t they just go live and tell us that?
Sardinia has been difficult rally for Kalle with WRC car.
so
I'm happy if he is TOP 5
and
Very happy if he beats Neuville and/or finished TOP 3
All Hyundai drivers are very fast but heat is i20´s worst enemy. Puma drivers are probably too slow, Katsuta starting 3rd also slow, so my winner candidate is Evans and Lappi should make TOP 3 also.

When Ott finished the first run, I could hear him saying something about the engine. If I heard it correctly then he said "There is something wrong with the engine. If.... temperature... down... (points meaning the parts I didn't hear correctly as it was very faint and commentators were talking at the same time. I wonder if it's the reason that he has only completed 1 shakedown run...
There must be something. Other have done 3 rounds already
According to French site rallye-sport.fr, a fire began on Tanak’s car (contained now)

Tanak's car has been repaired and he will go and try to make at least one more run on SD.
Hyundai UPDATE: After the 1st pass of SD @OttTanak and Martin were forced to stop on the road section due to a technical problem on the engine side. There was a small fire in the engine bay which the crew managed to stop. The car has been fixed and the crew is allowed to run again on SD.
The concern of the whole world circus continues about the great heat that could affect the 2022 edition of the Rally Italia Sardegna. As expected, temperatures started to rise from yesterday and the first steps in the shakedown showed that it will not be easy to manage the heat, especially inside the cockpits of Rally1.
There has been a lot of talk about corrections and solutions but, for this WRC appointment there was no technical time for substantial interventions (in Portugal it was raced just under two weeks ago). However, we tried to insert some small tricks.
Hyundai Motorsport has confirmed the reflective "film" in the roof tested in the tests and the cars yesterday at the service park presented this unusual color.

The Federation also intervened, with the approval of all the teams, with an exception to the regulation that allows the use of polarized glass on the front side windows. As specified in the official communication disclosed, the motivation is for safety reasons and to counteract the excessive increase in temperatures on Rally1 cars.
The FIA approves polarized glasses on Rally1 to combat the great heat
11.3 Windows/Nets (Appendix J - Art. 253.11) - add:
With the unanimous agreement of all manufacturers registered in the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship, the FIA has granted a waiver to Appendix J, Art. 253-11.1.1 and allows the additional application of silvered films on the rear half of the front side windows in Rally1 cars. This change is in consideration of extreme air temperatures recorded inside Rally1 cars and is implemented for safety reasons only.

Tanak didn't get penalty for not doing 3 runs.
Stewards decision no 3
Quote:
Following the FIA Sporting Delegate advice, a possibility was given to car No. 8 to
complete the two other passages by 13.00 hrs on Thursday 2nd June 2022.
Car No. 8 completed the second passage but, after that, the Shakedown was delayed
by the Clerk of the Course due to other issues.
For that reason, car No. 8 came back to the Service Park and the crew did not run the
third passage.
Under the above circumstances, the Stewards decided to take no further action.
Sordo is seriously worried about the effect the extreme heat could have...

Very nice super special stage!
Lappi said he tested for this rally on Friday in Portugal (there was no video from that?). He also said he is running a different geometry than the other guys.
Belgium on top.

P1 WRC2 Masters
P1 2WD / RC4
I know it's early :p
Morning, those of you got up from bed...
3min gap seems too little for some places..
Neuville lost 7s between SPL2 and SPL3
Neuville lost a lot in the dust!
Tänak is fast as expected, but how long does the car last?
Also, Breen not really going anywhere.
Evans still good in difficult conditions(dust, fog..) 3s faster than Tanak between spl2 and 3
