Really great route ! Looking forward to it !
Ferry booked. Viking Line cheapest. Stockholm - Turku.
Apparently the shakedown will be like this https://www.mapfab.com/map/rp8/Vesala-shakedown-2018 with the ending in reversed direction to the 1990 video I posted.
Thank you :) hope for onboard footage before the Rally ;)
Hi there!
Just a question regarding Rally passes, the price of 75€ is the same if I buy pass via internet or on location?
is this pass for all stages or I have to buy additional tickets for sss?
Thanks, Sash
A crazy rumor is that the yellow house jump has been measured, and artificially built up to spec to the end of the power stage Ruuhimäki

April fools is coming...
Does anyone know when Rally Guide 1 will be released this year , I've looked around the website but can't see any mention of it.
and if you want to see it in parts:
https://www.nesterallyfinland.fi/en/competitors/
Just go down to page and choose what you want to see...
FIA has requested for faster roads for this year's rally and the itinerary has been revised

April Fools yeah :P
Yeah, 130 km/h is waaaay to slow. These new 2017 spec cars need tracks and current route is the worst for them.
I'll be going to Finland this year. My first rallye abroad.
The rally pass is easy to buy at the HQ of the rallye ?
I don't know about buying rally pass at the HQ, but it is very easy to buy from the most of Neste gas stations in Finland. You can't miss those. In Jyväskylä, the official ticket sale office is at Hotel Aleksandria which is nearby service park, on the city side of the railway, opens two weeks before the event.
Ok. Thanks.
So, accomodation, plane tickets and car booked...spectating spots for friday, saturday and sunday already choosed....the biggest question in this moment - Shakedown...Anybody plan to prepare some onboard footage???Got no idea about this completely new section.
Organisation will provide onboard footage, like always.
But there is still about 20cm snow in Jyväskylä, it will take more than month before gravel roads are dry, recce video from muddy road is useless for spectators...
Last year the onboard videos were released alongside RG2, at the end of June. They won't know the exact start and finish locations before that.
Also, the Finnish rally radio makes their own stage presentation videos, not usually of every stage, but at least some of them are released earlier, in late May or something. But I don't remember them doing the shakedown in the previous years. However, it hasn't usually been a new stage so maybe they are doing that now.
I just decided to go and visit Rally Finland this year with some friends. For me it´s the second time there, so most things are clear. Only one thing: We´re on a low budget mission, so the plan is to sleep inside the car. Has anyone of you done this before? And is able to tell me if there is a possibility to take a shower anywhere in the area? The options which came into my mind were: asking at a campsite, gym or at the harbour in Jyväskylä. Or are there showers at motorway service areas like in Germany?
Few days ago I have seen the Shakedown route by Google street and looks very fast but without jumps.
Hayden Paddon and Craig Breen will compete in Rally Estonia to prepare Finland.
Maximum two persons quite naturally is possible to sleep in one car. Bring some extra pillows and sleeping bag. Stay at a small lake and you have all possibilities to take the a bath early in the morning or in the evening. Don´t think there´s a camping in Jyväskylä city area.
Been there, done that. many times.
@Hartusvuori, @jiipee64, @Rallyper: Thanks a lot for your advice. Dipping in a lake seems like a good option :D.
Other options for washing your self in Jyväskylä area:

Laajavuori SPA, this is very rally related place, old HQ of rally.

Peurunka SPA, Laukaa. Also rally related place, Juha Kankkunen is local hero.

Swimming hall "WELLAMO" Vaajakoski, 8km from Service Park. 5€ in mornings, 6,50€ day time.
thanks for those links!
the biggest problem we face every year is taking shower somewhere. Yes, you have dozens of lakes there but the problem is that it is hard to access them IMO, all the good access ways are through private properties or houses. And it isnt same as taking a proper shower anyway.
We sleep in tents but i have seen people sleeping in cars too. The atmosphere at stage side camping is great, all the people get along well, barbecues, beer, vodka, funny stories...
ahhhh cant wait, two more months.
