nice wrc2 list with Basso Bouffier against Mikkelsen Tidemand Kopecky
How is WRC3 still a thing!? Thought that was getting killed off for 2017.
A rental car with snow tires is preferred.
Should I get Snow Chains as well?
snow tyres are good choice but i didn't find this option to the rental companies from nice.Snow chains cost about 30E,so it is not worth to gamble.
I always take chains in the mountains. It's better to be prepared than stuck.
I remember in 2014 I was leaving my hire car back to Avis at Nice airport and as I was filling up with fuel a few of the ford weather crews were there as well we had a bit of a chat as you do and the topic of tyres came around , we had got snow chains with our cars and most of them were not of very good quality , all the Ford cars had winter tyres on and all were on German plates , they were all hired from Hertz with winter tyres requested , just for your information.
Also Mirek's advice is very true the weather can change very quickly in the mountains.
Waiting for the MC full entry list, due today...
Rally-Magazin said: 'In the first version of the Monte list, the M-Sport team is still missing. On Monday there should be an update, possibly with further surprises.'
Still waiting...
I doubt we'll see anything until the accepted list of entries comes out next year. It's not normal to release two phases of entry list.
It's quite normal that some late entries are accepted even after the deadline for entries. It's of course more difficult when one has to send the list for FIA approval but it still happens. Anyway as far as I know ACM hasn't published anything to date.
As no official site published anything - the list on rallyemagazin is probably nothing else as click bait.
There is no sense in publishing a non finished list, except the entries are published already after receiving like in finnland or sweden.
Yes, the published content of the list will be legit, but it has no sense to publish it if even big names like the Fords are missing.
The RdMC entry list will be issued on the 6th of January, 2017 (subject to FIA approval) according to the AMC website.
Hey guys !
I really need some help, I am a rookie in a sense that I haven't been to any rallies myself. But I wanna surprise my boyfriend and take him to Monte this year as he has been talking about it since the news about M-sport came out.
So therefore I have some questions, like I understood in MC it's free to see the stages unless you want a VIP package?
If I would have an apartment in Cannes how much of hustle it would be to drive to stages from there every day ?
About the car rental, no way to get a car with winter tyres from Cannes or Nice ?
Is there anything else that is very important that I should know?
Sorry for overloading with questions, hope you can enlighten me :)
Wednesday: 3h
Thursday: 1,5h
Friday: 3,5h
Saturday: 3h
Sunday: 1,5h
So Cannes is not an option. The rally is basically based around Gap from Wednesday to Saturday, only Sunday is closer to Monaco.
Best would be to have accommodation until Saturday around Gap and for Sunday closer to MC.
Monte Carlo rally twitter just tweeted this link and it says that Elfyn is in the list with a fiesta

Fantastic WRC2 battle in perspective ;)
Mikkelsen, Kopecky, Tidemand, Basso and MC expert Brian Bouffier. I will be surprised if Camilli or Pepe Lopez go match those guys.
Yes, forgot super fast Kevin :)

So just questions remain over either M-Sport, DMack or Private 2017 Fiesta's for Evans & Ostberg...
WRC2 is a pleasant surprise on this event. Much stronger than I thought, and some interesting wildcard names - youth and experience.
Will be interesting to see the different in times btw the 997 and the Fiat 124, and to hear comments from Delecour that has driven both.
