Well so far Toyota isn't exactly looking promising eh?
Sorry, wrong thread :)
yes, as eightgear said Toyota does not look promising for drivers. That's why I said that.
it is bit funny that everyone (me also) is thinking that Toyota is not good and still they are only team that is already testing full 2017 car.
near everyone also thinking that "order" of all makes remains same next year, even that cars will be completely new (new chassis for VW and Citroen)
Google Earth Map Rally Wrc Portugal is online http://goo.gl/pH6K64
RG2 online. Spectators areas here: https://www.rallydeportugal.pt/conte...spx?menuid=216 (click over SS name)
About safety rules, I'm not totally agree with what has been said higher.
Last year, we found some access to avoid public areas, particularly in Viana, Marao and Ponte de Lima. There was no marshalls here, and we had no problems. And we're not the only ones.
If you want to take pleasure in Portugal, I encourage you to do the same and escape the public areas.
for JWRC 11 entries
for DDFT 10 entries
When the entry list will be published?
No mention on regs :(
I think it was already obvious, but Skoda Motorsport will start with Lappi, Tidemand and Kopecky.
Lappi will be in sardengna
, not Portugal
Tidemand for sure. Probably kopecky
Suninen vs Evans will be interesting...19 WRC machines!
19 WRC cars
25 WRC 2
11 JWRC
10 DMACK series
It may currently get pretty poor numbers outside of Europe, but bloody hell, the WRC is fantastic health in the heartland.
And Toyota is still to come...
Hi,
I am planning to go first time to Portugal WRC event, but ticket is 199EUR ?! Is it worth it or is there any other reasonable way to watch the rally? It seems that some of the stages are free?
Hi!
All the stages are free. You can check it here: http://uk.rallydeportugal.pt/content...spx?menuid=249
You can find 36 Spectator Areas (ZE). They are all free.
The 199 euros you're talking about is for "rally pass" (it allows acess for a area with countertops every day, parking, acess to the park...)
The SSS1 is only stage that you need to buy a 20 euros ticket to watch.
Healthy manufacturer variety too. Not all M-Sport fiestas.
8 fiestas
4 i20s
3 citroëns
3 polos
1 mini (!)
And the WRC2, my god, quite an entry.
Who is this Yoann Bonato with Denis Giraudet (who this year is celebrating 35 years in WRC rallies, what the hell does he eat...)?
Bonato did some jwrc events in 2007 and 2009. Then some years very little racing. In 2013 won opel adac cup in france. 2014 in a r2 adam showed great speed. 2015 in a r5 peugeot also very fast on france tarmac champ. Speed on gravel is a question mark. Some french members meiby have more info.

So no Lappi.. quite weird.
First we heard he would likely do all events, some with BRR, but then he didn't turn up in Mexico, Argentina or now Portugal.
Also noticed that Suninen back to Fiesta this time. And no Berqkvist and Kruuda. Anybody knows what rallys Berqkvist planned do to?
Suninen back to Fiesta could be cause Tommi will run two Fiesta R5 to japanese drivers.
