Is Hyundai running 3 new generation I20's from the beginning of the season? If so, only model missing is old I20.
Just a shame Gorban will not be able to match the pace of other wrc cars. he will be battling whit wrc2 again i think.

Mixed reports stating that Paddon will have the new i20 WRC in Monte... but other reports say it'll be in Sweden!
Now, I hope Gorban brings the MINI WRC to MEXICO please! :D
Better stop hoping then, it will make you less disappointed when the entry list comes out.
Even if its still way to early, but for those who was already worried about the snowconditions some weeks ago:
The whole rally region saw very cold temperatures the last week and is now in very nice winterconditions. Quite some intense snowing in some parts.
Forecast looks also very good for now.
Snowdepth in Sweden:

If you tick off Ortsnamn, you will get names of places, so it a bit easier to orient the map.
Not much snow, but could change fast.
Today the entries Close for Rally Sweden 2016.
A pity that the list of received entries on the Website is not as accurate as in the last years. We have to wait for more updates as there was no changes since quite some days now.

New shakedown needed for Rally Sweden. Looks like organisers forgot to ask first before announcing the new shakedown near Karlstad.

The 2008 shakedown, directly in Karlstad, Close to the superspecial stage area would have been quite nice. Espesially from a spectator Point of view, as the whole stage was easy accessible from start to finish with plenty of spectator places to change between.
A pity that in 2008 there was nearly no snow. But in full winter conditions, it could be very nice.
I've been checking this daily and it's not been updated particularly well. Hoping for a nice entrylist when it does arrive with a WRC surprise or two. Hanninen maybe? I guess it's got to the point where even Henning would be a surprise - but that's more a case of if he makes the start.
Now there was a big update: Already more than 50 crews, which is at least a +15% compared to previous three years.
Very nice list. Entries close at midnigt.
15x WRC
25x R5
3x S2000
2x N4
1x R3
4x R2
1x R1
at the moment!

Did someone tell Østberg there's no midday service...? ;) (Ref, Finland)
Hopefully they will change back, next year because this kind of drew the joy out of going there a bit with all the strange changes.
A bit crazy going 3 days with no midday service, hopefully we won't loose too many cars.
Having to go 1 hour instead of 15min to shakedown, which most likely will be without much snow if you go by the previous years, can't remember that i saw any snow at all down by Karlstad last year?
It is always nice going to the end of day service to get the interviews and meet some friends and see the drivers. I don't think many of the ones who actually follow the rally will bother to go all the way down to Karlstad for that. Sweden is not an event that lacks in number of spectators so i don't see why Hagfors is a problem.
And now the drivers have to do the long road section in the middle of the night in rally cars instead of comfy cars or busses as well.
Yes, but also those lots and lots of people who always had their accomodation in Karlstad, as there was way too less hotels around Hagfors are happy of driving just 10 minutes instead of 50 minutes to old shakedown. So its just a matter of perspective.
And be honest in last 15 years there have been enough Rally Sweden with nice and more than enough snow around Karlstad. Yes, for sure also some without, but thats nature.
Rally Sweden has no spectator problem, but it never can be a bad thing to offer the possibilty to have more and more people able to come and see the service etc. in a bigger city like Karlstad.

Sorry somebody on twitter said that they are the final
Was a bit expecting Ketomaa as well
Now it's up to 54 entries and we have now H.Solberg with a Fiesta WRC in the list. But what's even better, there's a name of Emil Bergkvist with a DS3 R5!
And Anders Grøndal has swapped his DS3, for a new Fiesta Evo.
As far as I have understood, he has not been happy with the handeling of the DS3 on gravel/snow.
Will be interesting to follow him in a new brand.
Liking those late additions. I guess we'll see how many of them make the actual start of the rally now.
So the probably final statistis, very nice:
16 x WRC
26 x R5
3 x S2000
3 x N4
1 x R3
4 x R2
1 x R1
54 entries = +28% to the average entries (42) of the last three years.
And 48 entries for historic competition.
Very top heavy list too, really shows the strength of the RC1 and 2 competition with the current number of R5s. I'll be surprised of there are many stronger RC2 classes in WRC events this year.
Nothing yet in swedish newspapers about Emil B. Unfortenately this looks like a last minute thing. A one off. But let´s hope it works out well.
The driver we know. The Question is how about the team around when it comes to Rally Sweden?
100+ entries for Rally Sweden 2016:
When registration for Historic closed at midnight, the number of entries landed at 48. This, coupled with the entries to the WRC increasing to 55 meant that the total number of entries for Rally Sweden in 2016 ended up at over 100.

While I understand they want to present the event in as good light as possible the title simply isn't true. There are 55 crews who entered Rally Sweden. The others who entered different separate classifications are not competitors of Rally Sweden.
Shakedown will be held at Alster stage which have been used before.
http://sverigesradio.se/sida/gruppsi...rtikel=6339868
This was older News before this one:
http://sverigesradio.se/sida/gruppsi...rtikel=6343849
There it says that the Stage around Alster can not be run.
The plan for this stage was also in Rally Guide 1
According to motor.blogg.kristianstadsbladet.se old shakedown stage Rada is a backup solution:
We have with it as a backup plan, in case the weather would be against us. Otherwise, we'll find a solution in Karlstad, says Magnusson VF.

Well marketing definition doesn't matter. What matters is classification and 55 crews entered one rally and 48 the other one. The fact they both take place in the same time is of course true but they are two different events with different rules, different classification and different competitors. Of course You might find my point as nothing but grumbling but I just don't like using misleading titles for marketing purposes.
Good afternnon,
I'm a new member. I'm from Portugal and this year i will see rally Sweden and i have some doubts like what is recommended transport to fans between stages and karlstad city. Maybe i get help here...
Best regards
