So you mean MW has taken Evans under his arms in order to make him WRD with his own money? I´m sure money comes from external source regarding Evans, however it´s up to everyone to put it in his way of seeing it.

I agree with Rallyper. MW will not pay his money for any driver (maybe only his son). He is businessman...Quote:

MW has actually done this in the past, as was quoted in a previous post this puts massive pressure on a driver, Ott Tanak for example. Its easier to be tolerable when the €2M is paid by Norwegians or Russians. By the way Nasser was paying for Neuville, he himself wasnt paying MW.Quote:

I think this may be the case. Ford seems to be doing better..Quote:

Not according to Autosport's Russian edition, which claims he will skip the 2014 season entirely.Quote:

M-Sport will be fielding 2 cars on all rounds, I wish I could afford to do that!
Sounds like they are doing OK from this on their website: :)
"M-Sport also operates a thriving customer business for private teams. It assists Ford drivers with programmes world-wide involving the Focus RS WRC, the Ford Fiesta S2000, the Ford Fiesta R2, GpN Ford Fiesta ST, the Ford Fiesta R1 and, new for 2013, the all-new Ford Fiesta R5 as well as the ground-breaking Ford Fiesta RRC and RS WRC."
They also expanded into GT Racing with Bentley in 2013:
"Having mastered the stages of the FIA World Rally Championship for the Ford Motor Company, the Cumbrian outfit caught the eye of Bentley Motors and were selected to spearhead the design and development of the Continental GT3 race car as the luxury firm’s technical partners.
Working closely with Bentley, M-Sport have aided in the creation of one of the industry’s most anticipated returns to racing. Completing the first car in just six months, the Continental GT3 made its first public appearance at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of speed.
As development continues, Bentley Motors and M-Sport continue to work closely to ensure the Continental GT3 is just as successful and competitive as its predecessors."
Joakim Roman entered Rally Sweden with Millbrooks World Rally Team.
Will he do - or only the team - a World Rally program ?
Same for Martin Koci, entering with DS3 R3 ... WRC 3 + JWRC ?
Vodafone is the new M-Sport sponsor ?!
I doubt it. They have been scaling back all of their sponsorship portfolios this year, especially in motorsport. They terminated their contract with one of the V8 Supercar teams, and they are not renewing their deal with McLaren for 2014. I don't see why they would suddenly start sponsoring M-Sport.
3years deal from Rally sweden
it seems to be good ;)

M=SPORT / VODAFONE: Here's the English translation to the Spanish story:
http://translate.googleusercontent.c...JVRiFuzes6wcdA
Remember that 28 december is fool's day in Spain... and look to the source of the news.
Ok... and what date is it today?
27th december, but i bet it's a fool, in some hours we will know the true.
Playing the Devil's Advocate for a moment, the WRC would make sense for Vodafone. They have scaled back their sponsorship portfolio, but they haven't completely ended it. It's rumoured that they wanted to get out of Formula 1 because they were forced to havetheir logos on the McLarens at last year's Bahrain Grand Prix, and although they managed to get their name replaced by a local partner's brand this year, the damage had been done. As for V8 Supercars, that was a decision taken by Vodafone Australia, because they were spending lots of money on sports (they also sponsored the cricket), but were taking lots of criticism for their patchy network coverage (for a network provider notorious for bad coverage, the Australian network was regularly criticised by the parent company).
So while those sponsor programs have ended, it's not a total withdrawal ordered from on high. The company will no doubt want some presence in sports, and the WRC would be relatively cheap compared to other sports. Plus, it would get fairly good coverage in the European markets, since ten of the thirteen rounds are on the continent.
Seems to have gone quiet, maybe it was a Spanish hoax.
Having ended their F1 and Aussie V8 Supercar sponsorship, it would be slightly strange to the sponsor a WRC team - were the media coverage is still relatively poor.
True, although it would be a lot cheaper.Quote:

VW has a WRC budget close to 90-100 millions per season, Hyundai is not far away from that (about 80)... just to let you understand what's needed to be at the top of the sport. :)
I mean it would be cheaper to sponsor a WRC team than F1 because WRC has little commercial value compared to F1, which I guess is why there are very few "real" sponsors involved in WRC.Quote:

Alchoolic drinks can sponsor (Johnnie Walker is on the McLaren F1 cars and Whyte and Mackay is on the Force India). It's only tobacco that's banned all together.Quote:

And the respectable journalists wouldn't pick the 28th to break a story like that. The world has become increasingly aware that 28 December is a day for practical jokes, so publishing a story like that would be the same as a British site running it on 1 April.
Confirmed as a hoax by the oxygen theives that started it. Obviously the whole world should know what days these hoaxs start..
Actually, it's my understanding that in Spain, being tricked is actually seen as being a good thing. If you are tricked, you are an innocent; if you question it, you are a cynic. Innocence, therefore, is the better virtue.
Ha ha you reading this NOT :)Quote:
