Hi guys,
Got my flights booked and accommodation in Mulhouse. Looking at doing, Masiff des Grand Crus - Ungersberg on Friday, and Hohlandsberg - Firstplan on Saturday. Any advice on spots to watch were it won't be too busy, and the access will be easy? Also for the Haguenau stage on Sunday, as I imagine it will be realy busy, would it be best to drive through Germany from Mulhouse, to avoid Strasbourg? Cheers.

Route will be London, Dover, Calais, Bruges (outskirt), Gent (outskirt), Brussels (north ring), E411 via Namur, Luxembourg
This will be my first WRC event outside of my country. I'm so happy :D I got an hostel reservation +- 100 meters from the super special hehehe
Hi, can't wait to watch the Master on home ground only 30 days away. Could anybody tell me are the stages free? And are there any good stage maps available anywhere ? Thanks Mark
The stages are free and if you download the spectator day maps from the website at A3 size you can see the route in sufficient detail to mark up on google or compare with a Michelin map. Glad you are convinced of Ogier's ability ;)
Interesting point was pointed out by Rally Finland deputy clerck of the course Kari Nuutinen in Twitter earlier today. Power stage might be the first stage of the rally, but we won't know who scores the extra points until the end of the rally. By FIA sporting regulations (13.3.4), "to score point, driver must be classified in the Final Official Classification of the rally". So, if Ogier (or Loeb or Neuville or whoever) wins power stage, but retires in the final day, no extra points. But if he retires earlier and joins final leg by Rally2, he can score extra points.

Is there a National Rally running behind the WRC Rally ? if so is there any information on it ? There has been one running the last few years i think .....

First, it was done because they thought National competitors would have more view thank to WRC. In fact it caused lot of problems for them ...
First of all, our championship is quite professionnal, with big teams who can run 5 or 6 cars (we have a team championship), so they need a lot of place. That's why, instead of being close to WRC paddock, they were nowhere ... so noone goes to see them in the park. Sponsors weren't happy, as teams.
Secondly, regulation is a bit different btw french champ and WRC. It created problems (I think service park time or something like that).
thirdly, the state of the roads was really bad ...
And fourth, I think french organizers didn't do the right thing to preserve this event ... but at least that's good for them as Antibes is no more ERC round, even if now they have to delete a round (as Mâcon was choose to replace Grand National, and this year Antibes is back in our championship).
But, as Grand National can't be run, organizers decided to cut the costs for the local crews who want to enter the WRC round. That's why our entry list was last year quite good out of regular WRC championships.
It's a shame there isn't a national rally in France, I was hoping to see some of the 997 GT3 Porsches!
Anyway, me and a friend are making the trip from the South West of England down to Strasbourg. Planning on camping overnight on the stages so hoping for some good weather. Sounds like the entry list is going to be massive and have a good turn out of WRC cars so can't wait. Expecting it to be rammed with spectators though who want to see the battle between Loeb and Ogier.
Can anyone tell me what the marshals are like over there? If we get up early enough can we walk along the roads and find our own spots?
making the trip from South West Wales can't wait now, I asked the same question about the marshals hope its ok to walk the stage before, nothing beats being alone and close to the action.Quote:

it's as in life : some are nice people, some are stupid ... don't expect them to speak english. Some maybe, but not all (as they didn't need it the rest of the year, and our school level is law).
Before you can easily walk along the roads (but don't arrive too late), but now a new regulation is out since some days, saying that people not standing in "authorized" zone (=spectator zone) are in "forbidden" zone and that all organizers must cancel the stage if people stand there. Let's see if it'll be apply or not. It can maybe affect you...
as in Monte Carlo, Julien Maurin and Lionel Baud will start. If for Maurin there is no doubt about the car, for the moment we don't know what car for Baud. They have the 208 R2, as in Monte, but they just buy a 207 S2000 (ex Delta Racing) and a Fiesta WRC !

It is very difficult to find your own way in the stages. Marshals send you only to "spectator areas", where you cannot see much. However, do not EVER regard these areas safe. Some of the points the spectators are standing are so unsafe that one can only wonder. At the same time, some really safe areas are forbidden by the marshals, simply because the organizer has not put a sign "spectator area".
Camping is free. At least I did not have problems two years ago. Going at the stages in the morning can be very troublesome. If you can camp, I suggest you do it.
All in all, this is not the best rally for a spectator. The main reason I will go this year is that my wife wants to see the beautiful Alsace, so I found the opportunity to see the (maybe) last rally of Loeb. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. Corsica, Spain and Germany are far better and much more convenient rallies if you want to see action on tarmac.
Dumas has confirmed on Facebook that he will run in France. So happy for Denis' return.

What is the dirrerence between CITROEN TOTAL ABU DHABI WORLD RALLY TEAM and ABU DHABI CITROEN TOTAL WORLD RALLY TEAM?
Is Sordo in the same team with Seb and Mikko or he drives independently?
Yes same team. That's only that a manufacturer can't have 3 cars to take point. (it's usual entry of Al Qassimi)
That's the same as VW Motorsport II, or Qatar WRT.
