2013. will be my 3rd time visiting rally Sweden and I have to say that itinerary isn't really friendly for spectators. Actually I'm a bit disappointed because every year the same stages with some small changes. Not much places to choose from. For example Sagen stage is really great, but you can reach it only from start or finish. 2 years ago we tried to drive the small road which leads to the middle of the Sagen stage, but when it was about 10 km to go the road just ended as the snow wasn't removed from the road.
Anyway it's specific only for winter rallies and I still can't wait to go there and will always appreciate information about the great spots from local rally fans.
Yeah I agree, and also stages are almost always in the same order.Quote:

I also definitely think that they need one more stage per loop for Friday and Saturday so that there is at least one full "dark" stage.
There were talks this year having the rally more down in Dalarna picking up some old stages from the 90´s, but then nothing happened. I agree fully, the stages of RS isn´t exciting anymore. (Except for Colin´s crest - and being there just walk about one k against start and there are som very good bends and jumps)

Previously the military had owned their own land and sports activity on it have not been a problem.
However now Fortv. have taken over all land owned by the millitray and they decided that no sportsactivity
was allowed on their land anymore.
I know Rally Organizers wanted to have a sprint rally during the cross-country skiing week in Falun. However Fortv. said no.

Bad thing about having the Norwegian stages on sunday is that it sucks a bit going all the way back to Norway for us Norwegians then back into Sweden to get the powerstage or Podium. Wasn't a very easy day to figure out what stages to do either...
No, I don´t think so. Two different cases. Local newspapers did believe that some new stages (from 90´s) would come out of new agreements with municipalitys in Dalarna.Quote:

My inboard collection if someone needs it :)

I am quite sure that on 2013-sunday stages in Norway it will not be many swedish flags.
@SunDanceRanch and @Rallyper
You two live in Värmland area right? What does the snow conditions look like at the moment?
Big thanks SubaruNorway! :)
Latest data from Friday says that there are 10-15 cm of snow on the rally region. More snow and temperatures as low as -20 degrees for the next week.Quote:

Just booked my Rally passes! Can wait. Just need to find a hotel :)
We're also thinking about making our first trip to Sweden, so any help regarding the best spots on the stages would be much appreciated!
Is there Super Rally Rule in Swedish rally 2013.. Seems that there isn't, as there's only an hour between Kirkenaer1 and Kirkenaer2?
It was there this year too I think? ;) Kirkener 1 and 2 are in the same leg, so what's the problem? With rally2 you can only restart in the leg after the one retired... ;)Quote:

So, either they expect a very low number of entries or there is no super rally rule (rally2 rule).
Or it's a relatively short stage.
Or it's a long stage, but the start and the finish are actually very close to one another geographically.
Maybe they do the same like Wales 2011, when at the Great Orme stage the 2 runs were mixed up, so when the second run began the 2 stages ran at the same time, with someone from the first stage starting in front of the first of the second stage and so on..
Nope, 2012 Kirkener 1 start was 10.03 - Leg 1. Kirkener 2 start was 13.23 - Leg 2.Quote:

Ok on a short tarmac stage but snow...?Quote:

There is 1h13mins between. It's a short kind of superspecial-stage. From onboard all spectators were on one side of the stage. So let's assume they don't need to run a 0-car between both runs. If they let first 15 cars run every 2 minutes, and others every minute, with some small margin, let's say they can still have 45-50 cars then. And this year they had 54 entries... Quite strange indeed, but if there are not more entries next year, it is possible...
Ok that might be possible, as the stage is run in bicycle paths of Kirkenaer, but still there's places where offs might happen (as we all know from 2012) and stuck the stage. These could easily ruin the schedule. Quite a risk, I think.Quote:

Not on bicycle paths but between the river and the bank to prevent flooding. Not much to see unless you can manage to sneak into the forest somewhere.WRC Onboards: Norway 2009: Mathew Wilson SS09 - YouTube
Yes, there will be Rally 2 next year (super rally)
I meant "bicycle paths", that is very small and narrow roads. I've been in Kirkenaer twice, stand the on the bank. But this year I'll be in Finnskogen again, no question about that. :)
And thanks for the info, great news about super rally!

Young swedish driver Pontus Tidemand is in talks with M-Sport about his start in Rally Sweden with Ford Fiesta RS WRC. And as there is still possibility to have free seat at Prodrive...

If it's true, I hope i can raise money! He has already drive a Fiesta WRC on test here in Sweden. That was Ingemar Svenssons Fiesta WRC.
'free' of course meaning 'vacant'!!Quote:

If this is going to be the career path of choice, henceforth, then I can easily see Evans getting a Fiesta WRC for Wales. Perhaps we need a thread to predict the best rookie result of 2013!Quote:
