The S2000 battle continues. Hmm, more new entries who are quick. Gonna have my work cut out trying to get that 7th place in the sprint stage! :s
Is that the S2000 MG or the FWD MG, tannat?
It is generally recommended to have a low car with soft suspension. But this is hard part in RBR. Real drivers have the advantage of actually feeling what the suspension is doing but we have to quess.Quote:

It all depends on driving style and what you expect from the car, how it should handle. If you are new to RBR, I suggest try using the default setups for some time, until you can predict what the car is doing in different conditions. But if you have some experience with RBR, start adjusting the cars suspension settings to fit the parameters you think is right. You should also have a fair understanding what each component is doing to the car before you adjust it (read the manual or this) because it is easy to make undrivable.

In which case, never mind :D
shakedown times so far :
4.02:88 - false start + spin
3.57:64 - overshot both hairpins
3.58:64 - overshot both hairpins again *faceplam*
3.52:22 - stalled at one hairpin
3.43:88 - good run
Are those with bad conditions? Very good stage times...Quote:

Unfortunately that's offline...
Just finished mine (got a hectic weekend ahead so had to do it quickly).
All I can say is - Shocking Rally!!!
And I may just have thrown away the Rallysprint title too... :s
Happy birthday FRED!
Well, you lead the sprint event with 12p over me and as I am not very good in sprint events, I think you have secured your championship win.Quote:

Guys you are just the champions in RBR 2009.
Neverknow in championship and Bruce in rally sprint!!
I could bet 10,000 euros in that... :p
Seems you had some fun In the snow there Bruce... :DQuote:

SS1 - I had an off here in testing before the event on a fast right - that time I drifted wide and went off-roading for a bit. This time a thought I'd brake a bit earlier, which worked well, except that in testing I'd drifted around a tree, this time I slide into the tree! (Trees 1 - BruceD 0)
SS2 - This is where I started to realise that testing in the standard game and then installing RSRBR09 and playing the rally means your testing is useless. Firstly the car is higher in this version and thus tends to roll more often (2 rolls on this stage) and secondly the banks are less forgiving cos the bank patch has been applied here. Oh well...
SS3 - One stupid spectator, standing on the outside of a fast left, right on the edge of the track. Yes, I hit him...
SS4 - This is the one that nearly made me cry. The stage was going perfectly until 300 metres from the finish where the nose of the car hooked a bank on the inside of a 3rd gear corner and spat me into the trees. Fortunately I kept the clutch in quickly enough when I bounced off the tree. Unfortunately, even though I was now stuck in 3rd gear but still had the engine running, I couldn't get the car out of the ditch it was in, even after a minute of trying, the engine overheating and desperate use of the clutch. Eventually I couldn't move anymore and then stalled it. (Trees 2 - BruceD 0)
SS5 - I think I set my personal record here of rolling 4 times in one stage. Only one of the them required help, 2 of them came cos of bad pacenote instructions. The one was a easy left over crest, which somehow became a medium left when I got there.
SS6 - Finally decided to fiddle with the settings and came up with a decent setup and did a good stage.
Sprint - Same stage again, was going well then suddenly lost the back end through a corner and had a spin. Was still only 3sec slower than my SS6 time so it could have been a really good time, cos I think I lost about 10sec in the spin. And I still beat Burnsie to the finish.
So when I said I had a shocking rally....
PS. I went and then played GP4 for a while, only to crash out of that race. I switched the PC off at that point.
Ok thanks mate going to do them later today!!!!Quote:

SS1 - started slow and struggled for grip. Had no major events.
SS2 - made small damper changes and immediately started to have better feeling with car. Though the time was still little off.
SS3 - I tried to drive as fast as I could but I still think it was a slow time. Only major event was that the gearbox went to neautral after K left.
SS4 - I had atleast 3 misshifts where it changed down two gears instead of one and I had really scary moments then. The time was seriously slower than the shakedown. I still can't figure out where I lost those seconds on the third split. 1st and 2nd split where OK'sh but 3rd was a disaster.
SS5 - I had near accident when I entered a corner too fast and nearly got caught in the snow banks.
SS6 - started sloppy on this one and had a off. On a fast left I hit the inside corner and the car was sent off. Luckily it landed forward direction and could get easily back on the road without hitting anything. I was very lucky there, I could really have written the car off.
SSS - had better feeling than the previous one but I was still looking for great rythm.
Overall I am happy (as always) that I finished the rallybecause I was sometimes very close of going off(and once did). I really hoped for better times bit I guess it wasn't ment to be. I wasn't quite happy with feeling of the car. Will wait for fellow competitors times...

Just finished the day....
Went better than expected since i have almost no experience on snow. On SS1 i spinned 2 times and in one of them the car shutted down.
SS2 went pretty well.....No crashes just a clean drive and the car was feeling good.
SS3 was quite bad because i was going fast and eventually hited a tree and i had only 2 gears
Overall not a bad day!!!!

Would everyone agree with this?
Who could Imagine the final round of this season, to be my 1st retirement?
Rally Finland Is over for me as I had 2 lethal crashes (gearbox damage)
In day1 (ss1 + ss3) and according to rules, one super rally per day allowed,
so retirement was the only way for me...But there's some more!
I retired from Rallysprint too, as after an off, my wheels got so damaged,
I couldn't keep It straight and make It to the finish...
Too bad, because I was waiting for this snow event so badly...! :(
Good luck to the rest of you all...
Don't know about everyone but I agree that difs define the character of the car(more lock more stable, less lock less stable car). As it affects mechanical traction directly (so does suspension but not so much).Quote:

Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who had one rough rally. Seems like this could be a real car breaker. I wouldn't have thought that.
I've just finish day1.
Really pleased with my run had some very fast splits...
Fortunately no problems with the car so continue to day2 with a lot of confidence :)
Complete my rally!!
I'm very pleased with my times.
Hope for a good position in championship :)
