Crieff is probably your best bet for a central place to stay, no idea about hotels in the area though.

Marcus Grobholm is in negotiations with Abarth Racing for a Grande Punto S2000 in the Rally Scotland
That would be cool..
Would be awesome to see him over here
Draft itinerary has been put on the website: http://www.rallyscotland.tv/downloads/Route_2.3.pdf
eurosport are going to cover 2 stages live...
1 each day... its going to be good seeing live rallying in forests...
Travelodge have another sale on at the moment: http://www.travelodge.co.uk/saver_rooms/
Somebody knows when shakedown will be held?
Thanks!
There is not a shakedown planned for the event at the moment. There are rumours though that some drivers will compete in the Colin McRae Stages in October which uses some of the same stages in Perthshire.Quote:

That story was in Autosport last week, which is where I expect the Polish site got the news. No idea if it is true.Quote:

Kronos may put Meeke in a 207 S2k on the McRae stages as a prelude to Rally Scotland (only at planning stage despite what has been written elsewhere). I presume the rule that forbids testing/reccing on a European championship rally prior to the event doesn't apply in this instance although Meeke will run, if he turns up, as safety car. Meeke has currently entered in the ex Brookes Escort. So things may change.
What exactly is forbidden, as most of the drivers have done a lot of events this year... :)
McRae Stages uses the same or some of the stages that Rally Scotland use so in effect if a crew does both events it could constitute illegal reccing I suppose.Quote:

Just ordered my tickets :D Pitty there is no shakedown :(
Will be booking my tickets soon, yes I'm a mug for paying £50.
On another point; on quite a few of the rounds, Ypres, Asturias, San Remo, there has been a strong local entry in S2000's. Sadly, when we get to Scotland, that will not be the case. It would be nice if next year the local importers Skoda UK, Fiat Abarth UK could support some British drivers.
Maybe the MG S2000? And why not more than one Proton?
Mark Higgins plans to enter in an updated MG S2K. Without a national championship as developed as Italy and other European countries there certainly won't be many extra entries.Quote:

Doesn't seem to be too many talented British drivers around at the moment.Quote:

Hi Tom, we've a few weeks to go until the deadline for applications, look on the BFG Drive thread for the timetable.Quote:

Which would be nice - I'd like to see them go further and back a British driver next year. I believe the UK was one of the biggest sellers for the Fabia vRS, so there is a market/following for fast Skodas.Quote:

Recieved my tickets today :)
Skoda have said they won't go and will concentrate on preparations for next year instead.
I hope maybe though that RGRS or maybe some other private team will run a Fabia in Scotland.
Entry deadline has been extended to October 16th, and on another forum there is speculation that the rally wont run due to lack of entries. Some saying 6 IRC entrants.
Owh :(Quote:

Someone who seems to know about the event has posted on that other forum, and everything seems to be OK. Actually looking quite good, with rumoured entrants. Including Abarth, and Rene Georges Skoda's - here's hoping.
Michal Solowow should be there with his 207 as well.
I was told just now that neither Loix or Vouilloz will do Scotland, championship is over and no places can be won. :( I have allready booked everything so i will probably go anyhow, at least when it will take place.
I'm glad I haven't yet ordered my Ticket - no Skoda, no Fast Freddy or Vouilloz. Oh dear, not good. Let's hope they get enough entries so it runs. It would be yet another kick in the teeth for UK Rallying if it didn't.
Cool place to see..
I would have gone if the works Skodas were going.
Hope to see a few top UK names in N4 cars if not S2000s.
So how come you guys arnt moaning about the IRC having a lack of entrys, yet will take any excuse to moan at the WRC?
Not having a go, just curious :)
