To be precise, Mikkelsen will be champion as soon as Saturday night if he beats Llarena in the first leg + he is in the top 5 of the first leg (he needs both conditions).
But I agree globally with you, he will probably take a steady approach in the first leg to secure the title (should be okay looking at Barum and his last year Hungary rally) all the more than he is not planned to do Canarias (but might change as he may clinch WRC-2 title tomorrow) so no big sense to risk everything during the Saturday. And then, he will probably push hard on Sunday.
Except if he is in a logic that he is already champion because let’s tell the truth, it is not really probable (and even possible) that Llarena could score 75 points on the last two rallies, especially with the competition in Hungary and even with his last year Hungary performance.
Is Gryazin in a Toksport Fabia for Hungary?
To try everything he needs to drive the new Hyundai in Monza.
So Gryazin with Polo R5 anyway... :)
Looking forward to the event, going to spectate there for the first time. The stages look great with a lot of variety in it.
Btw. Marczyk won neighbouring Slovak Rally Košice last weekend. Košice is definitely a good test for Nyíregyháza event.
EDIT: Semerád will not start.
Nikolay Gryazin will make his Rally Hungary debut with a special livery dedicated to the people that have helped him the most during the 2021 season.
