You won't get into trouble, unless you start making flippant comments about assasinations which get taken seriously :uhoh:

What you are doing, though, is giving a private company an enormous amount of information about you including every website you visit. They can then target advertising to you, and unlike other browsers I'm led to believe it's near enough impossible to block adverts in Chrome.

There's nothing inherently wrong or underhand about this, but consider recent data losses and ask yourself if you're really comfortable for an organisation to hold so much information about you.

If you're happy with Chrome then carry on using it. Personally IE8 and a halfway decent hosts file is fine for me, others swear by Firefox with Adbock.

OK! so when I start getting too much adverts, I'll erase this browser and all it's derivatives. Right now, I don't get any adverts sent to me. Nobody wants me. :(

I use chrome for my daily stuff like browsing the forum etc.

You're assuming that Chrome is just spying on what Chrome does.

Opera - its quick and doesn't eat memory

No need to download Adblock either (which is consitantly sh*t from personal experience)

I've never quite understood why people still block ads. It made sense in the 56k days when it meant your pages loaded a minute quicker but now?

I find them annoying and less clutter when I visit favourite websites

I use it for everything. I also visit the DTV forum, so if Google wants to spy on what I post, they will probably go crazy from the stuff I post. :p :
