For all around shooting (target, varmints, deer, groundhogs, etc.), I usually just grab the cheapest gun I own: a .270 Savage 110. Good rifle with a solid Leupold scope that's never let me down.
I've had it for so long and shot it so much, I don't have to refamiliarize myself with it. I don't have the time to shoot or hunt that much anymore, so I don't pick up the funny stuff that tends to make my shoulder and back hurt for several days.
