Talladega Cup Race Thread

I survived another Dega race weekend. :p :

Never seen so much bump drafting going on. :eek: Jr's front bumper was a completely differently color at the end. I'll try to post my pics when I have time to resize them.

We were not able to get our usual cup garage passes so we settled for Busch garage passes and the chance that we could somehow hook up with someone there who could help us. I ended up helping Jeff Burton's motorcoach driver get this drivers helmet signed (by the cup drivers) for Jeff's brother who is auctioning it off to help a child who has cancer. (when I got Stewart to sign it, he was actually nice to me and even called me Ma'am. :eek: ) So his (Burton's) motorcoach driver met us at the front gate yesterday and escorted us inside the track and gave us some pit tour passes to at least get us into the cup garage for a few hours. Then I had to rely on my security contacts to make it after the garage went hot and then onto pitroad. Thankfully we were never checked. :D

The bump drafting was insane, hamlin and someone else went straight to the front on the outside.

I just didn't understand why they were going on about Montoya. If you look at the reply, Stremme drove into the back of Montoya, the car wiggles, goes below the yellow line - with stremme pushing montoya and then comes back up the track. As Montoya was being pushed, where was he supposed to go, the grass?

Ah, fair enough. The way the commentators told it at the time, JPM came off the turn too fast and went below the line to try and avoid Menard. Initially I didn't think he'd been pushed but that pic definitely suggests otherwise.

What was the crowds reaction to Kyles win,was there any beer can throwing?I couldnt really tell from our tv coverage.

I think I saw a few beer cans thrown.
