Gary -- Thanks for the link to the photos of the '52 field. I saw one of the cars in person: Ascari's Ferrari was shown at a Ferrari concourse in Hartford CT in '01 or '02. It still had the original Indy tires on it! Frankly, I got goosebumps just looking at it. I wish they had fired it up!
I have also seen a Zinc Special at Lime Rock Park's annual Labor Day vintage racing festival. I don't remember whether it's the one that ran in '52, but it was from that era.
