The principle of aluminium-air fuel cell is not new (it's not a battery because it can't be charged!). Plenty of laboratories have been working on them for decades however so far the technology was not mature enough to go into wide scale production (I think some are used in certain military applications though). I don't believe in some sort of higher conspiracy against them. If they were so good the car manufacturers would be more than happy to use them instead of the li-ion batteries which are an expensive headache for them.
There has been a lot of seemingly groundbraking ideas which never managed to become mature enough for more than a laboratory use. Let's name for example HCCI engine which has been around for decades but till today it has not been installed in any serially produced vehicle. Let's see.

Can anyone recomment some good WRC podcasts? I know of Gravel Notes and Kitchen Table, WRC official podcast hasnt put new episode out for over a month, so maybe there is something else worth listening while driving to and from office... And i mean WRC as World Rally Championship, not as World Redemption Centre (yes, i accidentally clicked on their sermon podcast :P ).
Absolute Rally is probably the best weekly podcast

If you're strictly a WRC fan, you might need to skip some of the interviewed people, but usually every episode has something WRC related. The hosts are either rally drivers, involved in WRC teams somehow and/or motorsport journalists. Sometimes they even have WRC drivers/co-drivers or people like Julian Porter as guests.
