Ugh they better not try to start mandating tyre pressures like in F1

But what about the snow tyres running on the gravel... surely this would (over) heat them increasing the pressures ?
been like that many times... most extreem 2020 sweden and speed then was unreal on the solid frozen gravel roads without any ice... ok, then was michelin :)
you must understand how studs are working - they need something to bite in: eather ice or frozen gravel... on gravel they would overheat, and on michelin they would fly away... one by one... on pireli they just rip off part of tyre... different production style...
I've driven both michelin and pireli spyked tyres, both were OK for me :) I'm not yet up tp these 3 top drivers who managed to tore away a racing spyked tyre :)

Does pirelli set a minimum tyre pressure for it's tyres?
If they do and teams run under that lt would not be Pirellis fault.
Sent from my Takapalk.
Lower tyre pressure should mean more prone to punctures and lower top speed..? I doubt they would do that on so fast stages..
Did i saw correctly. Yesterday on meet the crews interwiew time, Neuville sat allredy on second place drivers sitting place? 😃
Can Breen keep his second place today?
I didn't catch whole story, but in Estonian Tv6 they discussed smth about Ott's 1,2bar?
This stage is very narrow in some places and a lot of snow
Banks look higher there because plows cant plow the top part of snowbanks away.
Don't know if it is Breen and Neuville's driving style vs Tanak and Kalle's, but it seems like the Hyundai is really jerky in corners and it is bouncing around a lot over minor disturbances, seems to be a big negative on a stage like this.
Tänak just can’t rest. Lost the brakes in second half of the stage
Good there is flexi service now
Nice start Ott. Keep it going.
This stage shows which guys in WRC2 dare to drive in the fast corners. Some like it better.
At some point right before the delamination, Martin said tyre pressure 1.2. They then discussed that the minimum recommended pressure for the stud generally (not wrc stud), is higher, 1.8bar. So they discussed that maybe they were all indeed driving with tyre pressures under minimum.
The 1.2 was before the delamination, Martin looks at the dashboard and says it to Ott like a warning that the pressure is too low before the tyre exploded
Oliver has matured a lot.
Everything goes fine and he concentrates on driving, as he told Becsy.
Provided he takes it to the finish (since I was just as optimistic after Friday in Monte only for another crash on Saturday), it is the first time I am impressed and there is real progress since Sweden two years ago.
Exactly what essentially everyone asked for:
Don't drive at 100%+ when not necessary. When dropping a few secs don't overreact with crazy driving on next.
Hopefully it is confirmed on more rallies than one.
In other WRC2 news Pajari has been hugely impressive.
Lindholm kinda as expected by me (imo he is not (yet) fast and reliable for top spots, last year he just got very lucky).
Suninen biggest disappointment for many reasons. Gryazin also quite mediocre.
New Skoda seems a real step up here, but again this is the kind of stages it was designed to be better on. Eagerly waiting for Croatia and Portugal to see other types of rallies.
He shows he can reach to result without trying to win every stage, which is good. At the moment he has a bit different situation to solve - with big lead, just make it to the finish without stupid mistakes and he seems to do that well at the moment.
In Rally1 most likely he will not meet this kind of situation any time soon - there is constant pressure and the question is, how he will handle the pressure.
Hopefully he can get the job done this time.
Tänak <> Pirelli topic - confirmed by the Pirelli guy, that Tänak got slow punture from 4km into the stage. Which makes his split times (even more) mighty impressive.
My impression is that from Pirelli point of view it was different reason/problem with Tänak and Hyundais.
Lappi is targeting PS points, no spares.
Agree with you on everything else than Lindholm and Suninen. Lindholm didnt do any rallies prefore Sweden and he got sick for his season preparation test and Meeke had to cover for him. Suninen and Lindholms rallies were mostly already over on friday and now it was just cruising to the finish. Also Hyandai has new team for the Rally 2 and i think they dont have so much experience on this kind of surface compared to Redgrey. Its not fair to call Lindholm only lucky from last year because he had great pace all year after Sweden.
Also Huttunen impressed me a lot with the museum Skoda. Lets hope that he gets enough funding to drive the new Printsport Skoda rs
Almost all agreed but I would like to add about Pajari that though his times are good his driving is still very sloppy and he approaches corners too fast and is wildly leaning on snowbanks. His risk management needs to improve, but yes, timewise very good.

There were some news, that mechanics messed up turbo tubes on Suninens car. That's why he dropped on standings
A bit confused with split times... Breen faster than Rovanperä.
edit: split 3 Rovanperä 5.3sec slower than Neuville, it must be some issue happened or problem to carry
edit2: Rovanperä: "it was a good stage, I can not do more."
