Like usually, most of onboards with action is missing...
Just watched a couple of tv highlights shows and they still have real appeal.
The live streams just arent that great.
After Monte I must say that I am quite disappointed with live coverage. For me they are making still the same mistakes like in the last years. As a comparison I am still taking 7 years old live from IRC Monte by Eurosport, you can remember here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=6gm2tVfJZ9s.
And why I dont like so much actual coverage of WRC? Talks in studio or at the start line or visits in the service are nice additional bonus. But usually I dont watch/listen it so much, I am not interested in it. But, when stage is going, I want to focus on the stage and watch what is happening. You can see on Eurosport footage, when first cars starts, they are always following the stage. Always you see the action, one or two onboards, static cameras. When there is cut to another crew, you immediatelly see in graphics who is it and usually also with actual time. No stupid pre-recorded interviews with drivers about nothing, no long graphics of pictures of cars, no long watching rotating map of the stage. Commentators knows what is happening and they are talking about what is really happening on stage. You can see lot of spins there, overtaking cars etc. What we have seen on Monte? They were lucky that Ogier, who they were following all the time, did two spuns in live coverage. But there were much more action...
Like I told, I think there is big potential with Red Bull and live coverage. But I am not sure if their philosophy is the best one. I must say that this philosophy doesnt suit me as I prefer to know what is really happening on the stage. Maybe it should be good for them to hire one person, who will not be commenting, but only watching the stage and news and giving this informations to commentators (and director) in time?
WRC app on Android is many times more stable than browser it seems.
Not a single cutout this morning while browser(chrome,ff) having multiple issues.
Quite enjoying the coverage from WRC+live, but the fall out of connection is really frustrating!
As long as they improve the connection, and how to deal with the down time when it does go down, they have a great product on their hands.
Quantum leap from last year.
Good job overall.
Seen people complaining about how this has marginalised rally radio.
Yeah true but I literally watched live WRC content on my TV for the entire day yesterday. You genuinely can not make people happy in this life.
Much better this morning - far fewer dropouts, good picture quality, more heli shots and some stage-side cameras.
This is the standard we need and expected.
Anyone else find the commentator Becky extremely annoying?
she is the best.. Would you rather listening to those two jokers at the studio, and one woman at the start (by the way she doesn't have a clue about what tyres drivers have). And that fat guy who wnats to ask drivers and they are scared of him hahaha... No Becs is quite good, she knows what to say..
Becs is alright, she is very experienced at this point.
Think the all live is good now, getting better each day. I wouldn't mind seeing splits more often but that's just my preference.
Ok, like this its worth paying for!
Excellent footage from the last part of the stage!
Julian (the fat guy) is amazing and knows his sh!t. The blonde broad, well...
Becs has been doing this for some time.
I was thinking about teh commentators as well:
- The new presenter from the studio is good imo, she's good as a moderator and hasn't said anything cringey or annoying. It's not her job to be an expert.
- Desborough is ok as a pundit in the studio but was extremely annoying when commentating a live stage. He keeps talking nonsense about driver ambitions and what they said two days ago but offers practically no useful information during the stage.
- Molly Petit (the one who didn't know what tyres everyone had on day 1) is just a regular run of the mill interviewer but i'd move her to end of stages where she just has to ask simple short questions.
- I'd bring Colin Clark from the stages to the media zone. He can ask more interesting questions and I think he could have some nice banter with drivers and co-drivers
- Julian Porter is good in the studio and commentating, i wouldn't send him to do the driver interviews in the media zone
- Becs is ok, makes a mistake now and then but catches herself, she's much better at commentating a live stage than the two guys that do the power stage. I'd pair her with someone who is knowledgeable about driving/technical stuff so she can concentrate on fluff and excitement and the other person can concentrate on analysing a bit what we're seeing.
- Paul King is good as a commentator
And they need an ex competitor expert at each rally, the red bull coverage was very good when they brought in Matthew Wilson or Luis Moya for example.
This WRC All Live is a dream. Just awesome!
I have a problem. I can't watch the onboards with the tablet. Do you have any idea how can i solve it?

Amen! Tbh I got cold feet about the prospect of having a ‘Becs and Clark TV Show’ (they can be great, but their overexcited tone somehow tires me) and this Kiri girl was a fantastic surprise. She’s a natural in front of the camera and even Desborough sounds better at her side; ok, she may lack rally info, but she’ll learn it quickly. It’s also nice to have Molly in the service area, although she can improve a bit. Besides the tech failures, I just regret Becs and the other commentators talking too much during the stages; they really should let us hear codrivers notes (no matter if they’re in English or not) a bit more. After Sweden I’ll be more than happy to pay for the service (btw, it can be shared by 2 or 3 users?).
That’d be really great.
Confirm 2 users. Allready on FAQ of WRC+
today watched stage 13 on wrc+ and it was evans's onboard. porter and that girl didn't stop with their talk in the best part of it. maybe they don't know when to stop it...
I've criticized the live on thursday night but I have to say that friday and saturday have been nice to watch.
Anyway I still think that some very easy and simple changes/additions could make the product much more worth it.
Anybody is watching live coverage with Samsung Smart TV? From yesterday I have info that I need to upgrade to watch all stages live....
Why have they cut the live feed? No splits working either...

SS15 is a Live TV stage.
They must be preparing all their resources (heli, commentators etc etc) for that.
I have Samsung SmartTV but not WRC app for that model. If I use tv internet browser app, I can see Wrc All live video but first it is very poor quality and after 15seconds it turn to mode that I can see only maybe 1/8 of the broadcast. It's then sharp but too big. Browser zoom doesn't help or anything else. Last year I had not this problem.
Buy yourselves proper Android TV and problems like these are gone.
What about Apple TV, have anybody tried it on that platform?
Using Airplay with Apple TV to strem from phone or ipad, works fine.
