Part of sharing the weekend with DTM. But unless you're a bit simple it's easy to follow.

useless nobodies bending over for DTM.
For ONE race weekend out of the whole season. Get over it
I don't know why I'm bothering to argue with you but WRX has joined a long established DTM event it's not like joining a club level event and not getting precedence.
Maybe the prescence of the word 'World' is causing a malfunction in your binary thought process.
So one event runs late morning instead of a couple hours later and you think people will not take WRX as a whole seriously?
Well luckily for the WRX organisers barely anyone else thinks that way so they won't lose any sleep at night.
It can be reasonably exciting, but there certainly isn't much skill to winning, they just seem to bash their way through the field. In fact Loeb seems to be the only one who overtakes without smashing the opponents car to bits. It's more like banger racing.
Plus, any championship where Ken Block can get on the podium can't be taken seriously as a professional motorsport.
There's a beautiful irony in N.O.T talking about being taken seriously
If anyone missed it and wants to watch it, this seems to work. Official region blocked footage:

It works at least through US proxy and for some reason German proxy too.
Here is another (geo blocked) video of WRX Hheim. http://www.svtplay.se/video/8364157/...llycross-svt-1
Just watched the footage and some races were quite exciting. I don't mind some aggressive driving in this kind of sport, so I enjoyed it. Surprising result for Block, I wouldn't expect to see him on the podium and he did some good driving today. In any case, that big chunky Focus looks like a beast, it seems to be built for the more aggressive racing style.:-D
I think that Block benefited by not being as quick as the other drivers, it meant that he didn't get caught up in a lot of the chaos...although the Focus was clearly quick around the Sachs Curve bit. I suspect that car will come into it's own on more open circuits like Lydden, the tight hairpins at Hockenheim must be really tough. I don't think it's too surprising a result for Block, he's always been a good handler of a car and his style lends itself to RX.
As for contact, I think that some is okay but there are times when it goes too far. It seems to add to excitement and for the most part the drivers don't seem to be complaining about it.
Had to go out this morning but just watched the recording.... wow, that was FUN !!
OK so its not racing for the purist, but for spectacle and excitement its right up there.
I was watching and actually made me laugh out loud at times... when does any other motorsport do that ?
The BTCC racing was great today but WRX was something else. Loved it.
Does anyone know what is happening with the Gigi Galli Kia programme for this year?
This thread shouldn't really be in the WRC section. It's shouldn't even be in the rallying section.
For sure it´s not WRC. Some circuit racing section maybe?
Wherever you put it, it doesn't fit in.

I think Ken did a lot better this round. . . Dispite him still being low on the leaderboard.
Tanner Foust is returning at Lydden and Estering. Getting quite excited now for my first WRX trip.

Sweden’s Mattias Ekstrom leads the third round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship after the first day of action at Mettet in Belgium.
EKS driver Ekstrom set the fastest time in Q2, backing up his second fastest time in Q1 to top the order at the close of day one for the third event in a row. France’s Sebastien Loeb set his first ever fastest World RX qualifying time in Q1 and is second behind Ekstrom.
World RX Team Austria’s Timur Timerzyanov was second quickest to Ekstrom in Q2 and is third overall with double World RX champion Petter Solberg fifth and 2015 Euro RX Super1600 champion Janis Baumanis sixth after Q2. Anton Marklund, Timmy Hansen, Reinis Nitiss, Kevin Eriksson and Davy Jeanney are all currently inside the qualifying positions for the semi finals. Local ace Francois Duval is inside the top ten in his OlsbergsMSE Fiesta, the Belgian is ninth overall with Q3 and Q4 set to take place tomorrow morning.
I read an article about Ekström a few days ago where he said that as far as Audi is concerned, DTM is Ekström top priority (over WRX).
However do you think that if ME continue to do this good in RX and if he his DTM results won't be as good, that Audi will let him focus on WRX?
No!
Poor weekend for new Focus RS RX drivers... and for Doran in the MINI. :(
Regarding the problems of Focuses:

"Not a great day for @AndreasBakkerud and I here at @FIAWorldRX round 3 in Belgium. Started off our first Qualifying Race in a good position (I was 2nd off the start, Andreas was 3rd), but a freak electrical issue happened to both cars at the EXACT same time - from the landing of a jump. This race was the first time we have jumped our new Ford Focus RS RX racecar and it caused a failure on both our cars on the same jump on the same lap! Bummer. Then, in Q2, I had a bad race with some wheel damage and had to DNF. We'll see what we can salvage tomorrow, but it is not looking good. Consistency is the game in WRX, and this development issue has really set us back this time. Brand new racecar development ain't easy, somedays - but we are working on it."
Puts into perspective just how new those Focuses are that they hadn't even taken it off a jump in testing. All things considered making 2 out of 3 finals so far is a very decent achievement.
Not too much chance to pass in Belgium so not the same fireworks. Ekstrom looking ominously strong this year.
Mattias Ekström is Swedens most talented driver ever. Racing, rallying, RX, ROC. More than 10 years I´ve seen his skills (and mentioned it before on this forum) and now he proves it in WRX as well. Given enough time and he´d been WRDC also. Now it´s too late I´m afraid.
