A brilliant job by Thierry and Nicolas through SS13. He makes it though (despite damage) and only loses the lead by 0.8 seconds!
new leader now... no matter who wins will be nice... Latvala cannot handle his speed... its a good thing he has good backing and keeps his seat.
RIP. :(
and thats the reason having an accident betting competition is tasteless... hope some of the less mentally privileged people in here get the point.
Kubica faster than Hirvo, attack from Robert on this stage :)
Tweet from Qatar WRT: "Confirmation that SS14 will be cancelled. That's good news for Thierry who goes into tomorrow with a fully re-prepped car 0.8s off the lead."
Distasteful, really.
okey then it's confirmed! RIP, terrible!
Big fight tomorrow then!
What a shame :( :( :(
I agree with you, can't see happy faces right now.

They already removed the tweet.
Question is if they know the reason why stage is cancelled.Quote:

Official WRC circus doesn't seem to care.
the drivers ford are fast but to many accidents
Rob De Vos (Triumph TR7 V8 ex- Tony Pond) went off the road on Panzerplatte 1. His co-driver Marcel Benning didn't survive the accident, and one spectator fatally hurt. Situation Rob De Vos is also not certain.

Seems like ADAC wants to cancel the rest of the rally too. Accident happened at the famous Gina jump.
Very dangerous to drive in such narrow streets :\ RIP.
rallye magazin says that driver and codriver died, but nothing from a spectator. they hit some trees according to the article. normally they are quite good informed.
however, very sad!
On rallye-magazin.de they now say both driver and co-driver died in the accident. No word about a spectator though. So sad. :(
according Citroen racing the SS14 is cancelled..Does anybody other news?
I don't think that the WRC didn't care about telling us the news right away or that WRCLive didn't say it straight away.. perhaps as it has happened in Australia recently; when a driver or co-drive has passed/died - they cannot confirm it straight away until next of kin is told. You know, the closest person to the person who died (family, wife, child, husband, parents etc)
So the WRC officially saying it on the radio, or in a press release and the family finding out that way? How would you feel?
I can understand the news goes out so fast nowadays on twitter and the internet... the WRC/FIA maybe are respecting the family members and team members....
And I personally posted it online... but only to alert people of the stage cancellation...
It happened around noon, so family will have been informed already for some time :)Quote:

An other competitor in Slowly's, said that a photographer and the codriver died, driver would be "ok".
BTW Latvala is still 7th, Ostberg 9th. Long live Rally2.
Latvala's very strange off:
