Interesting !!! From 2008 in portuguese/Madeira championship the S2000s have a group/class change !!! They become "A8" instead of "N4"... :mark:
By technical and logical way S2000 are everything except group N car.
Totally agree. Matching S2000 cars as Group N machines is absolute nonsense...
But if you look at the results they are pretty evenly matched, are'nt they ?
So why is it wrong to put them in the same class ?
But it does not make sense to put them i A8 either, is A7 only 2wd or could they go there ? (Gr A under 2000 ccm)
Yes, the results of S2000 and production cars are matching nicely, but that's not reason for putting them together in one group. Because it's completely denying the basic characteristics of group N cars, which are serial - opposite that S2000 cars are highly tuned machines, OMI they should have it's own category, because in current system of classes and groups they can not be placed anywhere. Solution to this problem is waiting in the new classement system (R1, R2, R3...).
In the Belgian national championship are the S2000's in A7, except in Ypres. This was already in 2007 too. ;)Quote:

As far as I know in France exists class A7S for S2000 - the best solution I saw yet...
It is just not into the idea of N4.N4 is PRODUCTION cars.they should be in a7,or a7s as in france
Production Car produced for competition. And after production extra modified for competition. IMO, top N4 cars are very far from production cars.
But hey, every car has to be produced, so logicly S2000 is a production car too... ;)
And when will FIA implement the R Class system ?Quote:

So now we can definitly add in this thread the news from Poland: Bryan Bouffier and Xavier Panséri with Peugeot Polska and the 207 S2000 for the 2008 polish rallies championship campaign(they will miss Rajd Magurski though)... ;)
Is it still going to be the hungarian Tagai 207 ?
No, I think that Peugeot Polska bought their own car.
No, the car is being built in France and will be bought by Peugeot Polska.Quote:

Can someone translate this

Βritek Rally Sport stops the Fiesta S2000 program due to sponsor problems. Pirtek stopped the sponsoring and the Fiestas are up for sale.
Britek Rally Sport stopped the Ford Fiesta S2000 program due to sponsor problems. Pirtek stopped the funding. The 2 Fiestas are up for sale!
Pitty :(
It says that FIA will lift the weight limit for s2000 cars by 50kg, but still Lancer will be 150kg heavier and Impreza additional 40 kilos.Quote:

That is a real big shame. No homologation for the Fiesta either I gues... It will be the Toyota's against the rest next year in Australia, unless one buys a Fiesta...Quote:

Mr. Martin Jahn, member of Skoda Auto's directorship, said today in one interview that we could see first official pics of new Fabia S2000 within next few weeks. So maybe rollout at motorshow in Geneva?

That is really good news, i will be there to see it, probably it will have the homologation in the middle of the year, no?Quote:

Maybe M-Sport or RamSport will take it or find a satellite team and give them support... ??
Do you see any other candidates ?
I guess that current project of Fiesta S2000 is on its end. The base model is too old and not very interesting from marketing point of view. I see the only solution for that two poor blue australian fiestas in being bought by some privateers. If M-Sport will build S2000 car in the future, it will be definitely based on some new model.

Yes, of course. Every 4WD must use Pirelli in WRC events (plus JWRC).
I agree with Karbonyl ,Ford or M-sport probably wont buy them because there is a new model coming, and there was a photo of it on the forum recently
