The shimming or valving might have changed yes, but the basic principle what happens when adjusting with the clicks is always the same, regardless of shim setting or valving.
I can`t think of any reason why he couldn`t chnge cliscks between stages other than no knowledge in what to do?
At least it`s certain that they haven`t removed the click units only from his car! Beacuse it would have needed classification.

I believe the original poster was actually meaning to say more precisely by adjustment: ride height. I had a comment on the blog last year explaining that the works drivers can change the ride height of their cars with a tool, rather easily, between stages.
